honestly i think he is doin great despite what everyone says... for once i am not nervous when our qb takes a snap.. he manages the game and helps us move the ball down the field and rarely makes a mistake.. yeah he may lack the big play, but i will do without it for the time because he has given us something we havnt had in a long time: a solid qb...
That is perhaps the most concise and accurate way to describe Pennington's performance thus far.
Even after his pick-6, I wasn't nervous when he stepped back to pass. I haven't felt that way about a Dolphins quarterback since the mid-90's (Marino prior to his interception prone ways in the twilight of his career).
Good QB in our situation if the running game is going good throughout the course of the game. Not a good QB when we have to rely on him single handedly. I give him a B- on the year. I'm looking forward to Henne the most toward the end of the year.
C+ to B-. He needs a running game and a defense to make stops in the 4th quarter and at pivotal points in a game. He will not be able to sling it 30 yards downfield and stretch the field. He is what we got until Henne is ready (not this year).
He had done well all season but last week he looked atrocious. I'm not one to jump his guns and start chanting "Henne, Henne, Henne"...
But if he has another bad week, missing wide open players and checking down at the line of scrimmage on 3rd downs, then I say put in the better Chad. The one who can throw it farther than 30 yards.
I give Pennington a B+ because he is exactly what I thought he would be. A solid QB who will manage the game better than any QB we have had since Earl Morrell.
