Playcalling was horrible.Saban decided to go ultra conservative first and force Sage to throw on obvious situations. The running attack was really working early yet they didn't use play action effectively.Today game reminded me alot of Dave.

They had a complete and utter lack of faith in Sage.. Cant say I really blame them after seeing him perform today.

You have a young QB so you give some easy throw early to build up his confidence.Playaction should have been use alot more.

Saban showed me he is alot like Wanny. He is afraid of taking risk.Let the kid learn to play and don't hold back. You don't what you have unless you let him play.

sage isn't that young...

sage is bad and will be sitting at home next year without a job. he has and always will be a 2nd or 3rd string qb

Personally, I don't think they had any faith in Sage. They should have run the ball more, actually, but that's neither here nor there. The play calling was bad. Cleveland made no attempt to hide their blitzes, yet Andra Davis was there twice (on both interceptions) either killing Sage or scaring him to death. Rookies will do that. David Carr, for example, is still staring down his receivers because he has no time to throw. Sage did it because he's a career backup. He showed flashes today - he let a play develop, took his time, and made a pretty nice throw to McMichael for a touchdown. The fact that he was out of bounds (personally, I think he was pushed out) is irrelevant, because nobody knew that until after the fact.

What really bothers me about this was the fact that the receivers did not get open. I questioned before and I questioned now if they even tried. 9/29 against Cleveland's defense? These are nobodies who were able to cover our receivers with no difficulty whatsoever. All of them were that bad. Booker's streak is over. McMichael was shut out.

It was just an awful game.

No one really knows....

You have to give him at least 4 consecutive starts to really evaluate him.He could be the next Gannon or another Frerrote. He needs playing time.

Playcalling was horrible? Last week people complained that we didn't run enough, know people are complaining we didn't pass enough?

Lets face it, Sage is not a Starter. Both games he has started in his career, he played poorly.

There is a reason SIX NFL head coaches have kept the guy on the bench..behind some dreadful QBs might I add... Sage is what he is.. Stop wishing him to be something he is not.

Actually,

Feeley was giving a fair chance to be evaluated. He sucked for the majority of '05 season and preseason.

Same goes for Rich Gannon....

The reason is inexperience. No pedigree to help his case (College). Your boy Feeley was label a third stringer until he showed flashes as he starters couple of games even those starts were deceiving.
