Everyone knews our O-line sucked..... And so did Saban.
Everyone knew we had average QB's....And so did Saban.
Everyone knew we had problems with the secondary after Surtain left.....And so did Saban. Its unfortunate that Saban was given a team that had major Salary Cap issues, had given all their draft picks away for a few average players. You guys that are cryin about Gus and Saban are way out of line. You guys got excited because we beat Denver, and we beat Carolina, and you got your hopes up for a playoff spot, well, back to reality fellas, we are REBUILDING. the faster you get over it, the faster you can enjoy the rest of the season and see all the positives that Saban is doing for the team.......

I totally agree.

The only bad thing is we are running out of time with the defense. It is getting old.

THE O-LINE, QB, & SECONDARY FLAT OUT STINKS!!

I do agree that we were all jaded by the victories over Den and Carolina. At the beginning of the season, I thought this team would win 5-6 games at the most, but now I can see them winning 8 or 9 and that very well could get a playoff birth this season if not the division. I've got to admit that it's fun getting fired up believing that this squad has a shot every week. It's like the old days.

I've resigned to the fact that Miami is in the rebuilding stage under Saban. I don't go nuts when we lose games like the one in Tampa. With that said, I will view this season for what it is and that's talent evaluation for the future. My question to you would be looking at the current squad, what's your next move as far as improving the team in the offseason if you're Saban? Where would YOU start?

yeah. and what i can't stand is the comparison to spurrier.

Spurrier was handed a 'win now' redskins team. all he had to do was coach them to win.

Saban was handed a clean slate, a #2 overall pick, and the leagues toughest division.

Well, the way we are playing we will be 8-8. We seem to play our best ball @ home and play like a Division III school on the road. Too many dumb penalties. You are told the snap count in the huddle, why should you get a false start.

When I saw that I just couldent beleive it. My first thought was, "if I say what I think I will be baned."

the defense is not getting old, it IS old.

we have the oldest starting defense in the league

LE: 32
DT: 29
DT: 36
OE: 31

OLB: 36
MLB: 32
OLB: 21

CB: 31
CB: 23
SS: 31
FS: 30

NE has an old defense as well, but its not as old as this one

I think that there are some good QB's that will be on the market come the end of the season. I don't think that Saban brought Gus in here to be the future, he was brought in to get the offense going faster, considering its a system he knows. Its bad enough having the O-line, receivers and RB's learning a new system, its even worse if the QB has to learn it to. I think that since we are going to be in good shape Cap wise, we can really go after some good CB's.

Best players available. I think it all starts up front. We need an OL. But QB is the most important position. Cant go anywhere without one. Also need secondary help.

BINGO! Agent Mulder, my thoughts exactly.

I agree with you, but it's tough to swallow these two etremely sloppy back to back losses. We didn't look like the team that beat Denver / Carolina in either one of those games, and that's a concern, especially the state those teams were in....

I see alot of promise already in this team, but that doesn't make losing against beatable teams any easier to deal with. We know they can play better, and that's the harsh reality....

PHINZ RULE!!!

the good thing is, with the way things are going, and the excellent performances by college QBs so far, its looking like Miami will be getting a solid Guy out of the draft next season. (or maybe through FA or trade. Carr probably won't be in houston for much longer, and yeah phillip rivers is still out there) Im not picky on exactly who we get. But im confident we'll get a good player at the Qb position.
