People are Upset about Losing Vernon and Miller???

Both of those guys are good. BUT..... neither of them are worth the money they'll get on the open market and not by just a little bit.

Vernon is a good second tier DE. HE IS NOT A 15 MILLION DOLLAR PER YEAR PLAYER. 12 Million is pushing the limits of what he's worth. I think he's worth closer to 8 Million. He's no JJ Watt, Mario Williams (in a 4-3), Von Miller etc....

Miller is not worth more than 5 million a year. He doesn't break tackles or make many people miss. You don't pay more than 5 million for a guy that NEEDS everybody to hold their blocks in order for him to be effective.

I hate to see them go, but I'm tired of paying top dollar for players that aren't top players.

Miller had one of the best YAC avg in the league last year. Remind me again how he doesn't break tackles.... He's a better back than Ivory who just signed a $6mil/ year contract.

Is isn't so much about losing these players. It is more about being able to draft and groom players through at least 2 contracts. Miami CANNOT do this. Miami HASN'T done this for at least a decade. You CANNOT win in this league when all your players are free agents and you enter every free agency just slinging crap at a wall. Eventually it sticks but it more than not causes a coaching carousel IF you do not have a core group in place. Miami doesn't have a core group in place because they cannot draft and groom. As such, the dolphins will NEVER be more than a mediocre franchise.

Yea I agree, we're LOADED with young developing talent. Beyond that there was NEVER any need and/or benefit from getting a new contract done with Miller or OV sooner.
