:dolphins: anyone hear other wise? it was reported about 5 min ago that he would. that is a good sign. think maybe just one or two series, i.e. McNasty on sun. night against da' raaiders. :dolphins:

Maybe one or two series.I am looking forward to seeing what the backups can do.

Yea i saw it on yahoo sports

I hope he only gets a couple plays cause thats all we need for him to get injured :tantrum:

hes only gonna play the first series. and damnit, if that o line even allows Daunte to be touched, they should all be severely disciplined all week long.

:yeahthat:

Make them run sprints till they drop:barf:

As much as I would love to see DC on the field I think he needs to sit as long as we really don't need him. Get the backups as many reps as possible and hope for the best. One series in a preseason game won't change a thing as far his progress, he's an all-pro with nothing to prove and alot for the team to lose!

i hope not im not to worreid about cpep i want to see joey get some quailty work and i cant wait to see cleo play

I think I have a better chance of starting in the first two preseason games. He has a goal of starting Sept 7th and you guys slate him in Aug 12. I LOVE IT!

I disagree. You can't play the game not to get hurt and you can't coach that way either. Daunte is on a new team with new receivers and the more live reps he gets, the better. An ineffective Culpepper is no better than a injured one. You can't just expect a player to turn it on the first game of the season. The injury risk will not improve a whole hell of alot between this week and 2 weeks from now. Him playing this week would be a great sign that he'll be ready come the regular season. If he gets hurt taking a couple snaps in a preseason game he would have most likely gotten hurt with very little time into the regular season. Give him a couple of series Saban and don't coach scared.

Drew Brees' agent doesn't feel the same way. I agree with the previous poster. Why push him? Let's give the line a week to gel, then throw him in for 2-3 series week 2. It's not like he's missing practice time. I don't see how anything positive could come out of the 1st pre'game that wouldn't be able to in the 2nd.

Bree's Agent?

I agree that the first game isn't as important since starters rarely get much time anyway that first preseason game but the guy does need live reps to get ready for the season. I've noticed that there is a huge difference in the performance of an offense in the beginning of the season that is directly related to how much preseason time that offense gets.

I'd love to see him out there. Even if only one series. Any game time will boost his confidence in my opinion.

I think the o-line should really work on protecting daunte, I say 0 knockdowns and 0 sacks all season and through the playoffs. And think if we get that we might get a few wins. I mean honestly how unreasonable is 0 knockdowns.

I'm guessing he'll do like McNabb did the other night...maybe a little longer though, one drive isn't really enough.
