Per Adam Gase, Tannehill is the starter for the foreseeable future

While I’m no Tannehill hater and think we still haven’t seen his potential, you shouldn’t take anything anyone says this time of year at face value.

Yup. Foreseeable future could mean 1+ years, 2+ years, or oh look Mayfield fell to us and we are going to draft him and groom him to be our next starter asap.

I believe he will go into the 2018 season as the starter but that could change at anytime during the season depending on who we draft and how the team and Ryan are doing. No way Gase is going to say anything different. Tannehill is the only QB on the team at this point that has actually played in the NFL so by default he is the QB. People read way too much into this kind of stuff. It's all games at this point and poker face

I actually disagree with everyone. Gase pressers are appt. watches for me and I can tell you he almost always means what he says. He's the most honest coach I've ever seen. Obviously if Ryan sucks coming off injury, and for a while as I truly believe Gase will give him a fair shake which will frustrate the board, he'd make the change. If 2016 Ryan returns get used to him cause he will be around for a while.

I still don't think we'll draft one of these QB's. The hype will continue to build but I really think we go defense.

Of course he will, Gase is much smarter than the average fan/analyst. Only a fool would expect otherwise, considering his talent and contract situation. Tannehill is going to prove a lot of people wrong this season, one way or the other. I can't wait.

Biggest concern IMO regarding Ryan is the 1.5 years missed and how's the knee??? I believe it's pretty critical the kid maintains his athletic chops to be really effective -- meaning he's not a pure pocket passer by any measure... I've always liked the kids mix of capabilities -- and certainly his ability to carry the rock helps the O in a numberof ways... Think about how many BIG CHUNKS Thill was able to grab -- it's important he maintains that dimension in "his game."

Well we all knew that. The question is will we draft someone to learn behind Tannehill, including in the first round.

Yes we already knew that Gase supports Tannehill and he is the starter in 2018. But what is he really saying? Yep we are drafting a quarterback be prepared. He also described Tannehill as a perfectionist when saying sometimes you have to stop going through progressions and run for the first down. BTW, I am a sanitation engineer if anyone is wondering.

We need to get a QB, Tannehill is the only competent one on the roster and that's a huge problem. However drafting a QB in the first round would be a bad idea imo, unless Rosen or Darnold fall into our lap at 11, which is extremely unlikely. Baker is too small and old, while Allen is too much of a risk/project.

Not as unlikely as you think for a QB to fall to us. Like I said before, of the teams drafting in the top 10, only 4 need a QB but again, if Cousins goes to one of those teams then only 3 would go top 10 leaving one on the board at 11. I'm not saying it's going to happen that way but it is possible that one falls to us. Keep on mind if 4 go before our pick, it'd mean they all went top 6 which has never happen before
