    im cool with this

tells you they see jesse davis as a right guard and probably aren't comfortable with eric smith yet as a starting right tackle

hoping $6 mil per annually but I bet it's a little more maybe 7.5

they better not waste high draft pick on damn right tackle

james is an 11 personnel based tackle all the way

While hes not a imposing type of tackle, im all in on keeping him, And fixing the interior of the line.

Yep James back and Sam Young at the swing tackle and our offensive line isn't looking half bad.

He’d be arguably the free agent right tackle on the market, he’s got zero incentive to take a hometown discount deal.

7 Million or less, if they didn't want to overpay Landry than lets not overpay James.

Hometown discount to play with this model franchise. He'd have to be an idiot to not force miami to pick up that 5th year or to release him.

Miami can't afford to keep him with the fifth year option so they would have to cut him he rejects the contract.

7 million AAV is fair, but James has leverage here not to do anything as well.

In situations like him and Landry, most teams would in theory have the cap to hold them both on the tag and knock out a longterm deal come June. Now its like holding him at 9.3 million is a death sentence to our cap and we have to cut bait if we don’t lower that cap number by Wednesday.

    Awful stuff

Excellent news. Can’t wait for the next hamstring, groin, or toe injury that costs him 8 games.

$6-7M per 8 games sounds reasonable.

Clearly, this is Suh’s fault. Can we cut him twice?

I am good either way on this as long as we don't overpay. He is good (not great) when healthy and has been our best lineman, which is actually sad to say.

I hope they didn't make him a stupid lowball offer. Make him a decent offer you can start negotiations from and get it done. Why do we make this so difficult?

"full and final. you have 12 hours to respond"

I could see 5 and 40 here and you know to sweeten the pot miamis going high guaranteed...so maybe $28 mil guaranteed

I think our front office is good either way too....if they could get something worth while for him they would, if not resign him. He is a meh player.

Armando is an intelligent guy, but right now he's reading like Andy Cohen, a team apologist. He's getting Tannenbaum's story out as a trade-off for getting access.

It seems to me like this front office has not ever had a clear plan to build the team. They are just winging it year after year.

So they offer him a contract right when the tampering period begins, so now teams with ample money have the chance to outbid us legally? What have they been doing since the season ended? There has been nothing but time to make these kinds of decisions.

James is under the 5th year option so basically under contract so no team can even approach him or talk to him until the dolphins pull the option

I mean he isn’t oblivious to the reports out there suggesting he could be the top RT on the market or that the Broncos could be interested in his services if he hits the market.

And the Dolphins have 2 days to essentially pull the option or it becomes fully guaranteed.

So while he may be under contract, I doubt Miami wants that 9.3 million dollar weight on their cap come Wednesday.

This is essentially a free agency pitch.

And risk another injury, which would torpedo his value after. Most players would prefer long-term contracts with guaranteed money.

I believe this nothing more than a PR move to appease the fans much like Laundry with little expectations of keeping any of these guys. Gase says we want Laundry and then is traded for Pocket change.
