The New York Daily News reports that the Jets have reached out to free agent Peyton Manning to inquire about his interest in them.
We suspect the Manning camp will play hardball with the Jets to a greater extent than they do with any other team. Manning won't want to play in a severely fractured locker room, and the Jets aren't exactly flush with cap space to make a monetary offer their primary selling point. Expect the Jets' "interest" to die quickly, followed by public statements from Mike Tannenbaum and Rex Ryan that they're unequivocally "committed" to Mark Sanchez.
