I was shocked to see this, but we have 169 passing plays so far, to go with 169 running plays.

If you had asked me to guess I would have said we are AT LEAST 60:40 Run to Pass. The run is clearly our strength so far but this is very encouraging. Glad to see how balanced we really are. Hard to game plan against an offense like that. Hope we can keep this up.

Now just need to get the TD's scored by run and pass more balanced. If not it will come back to bite us when we face a team that doesn't allow rushing TD's.

with bush banged up, thomas out, miller a rook & the not so great showing against the bengals mediocre run D......

Beat them where they're weakest, whether that be run defense, pass defense or special teams (Field position).

But, the playcalling is just so terrible. :rolleyes2: GET REAL!!!

Teams that play deep into the winter with a balanced attack are much more likely to be successful. I echo WVs thoughts and add that the coaching staff is doing a tremendous job with this team, in every aspect of the game.

The Dolphins lead the league with most running play percentage in 1st quarters. They come out wanting to establish the run early , more than any other team.

Teams knows this now, loading the box the past couple weeks.

It's time to turn that around and open games with a ton of play action and roll out passes (and mix in some screen passes). I want to see Lamar Miller and Reggie Bush both in there at the same time, motion them out as receivers or coming out of the backfield in the passing game (Miller first as Bush is better at pass protection). Use their speed and playmaking ability by having both on the field at the same time. Have defenses run side to side from opposite sides of the field from play-to-play with smart play set ups and long drives (catching them by surprise with this playcalling),.. plays to the left, then plays to the right, then plays to the left (make that defense run side to side) throwing a J. Lane swing pass and let him bowl people over bringing 7 defenders to the area.. then when they expect another play to the right go left again with a Tannehill bootleg/rollout pass to the left making that defense run and run and run... and guessing and guessing and guessing.

Dictate the game to them instead of the other way around.

then wear defenses down by shoving the ball down their throat with the run when they're winded starting at around the mid-point of the game. The offensive line will have a field day at that point (like the Raiders defense in the 2nd half when they were gassed and moving @ half speed)..

This is west coast offense 101 when you have a real running game attached to it. And if you watched a lot of the 71, 72 and 1973 dolphins this is how Shula killed teams in important games. He had Griese doing the same thing with his passes early pinpointing the ball all over the field to many different targets making those defenses run and run around and guessing and guessing.., and then Czonk, Mercury Morris and Jim Kiick destroyed them running it down their throats.. The 49ers kicked Miami's arse in the 1985 super bowl much the same way, the Dolphins defense was dead tired running around all over the field well before halftime from Joe Montana moving the Dolphins side to side and running like crazy and guessing throughout with total precision. Then Roger Craig finished it up to begin the rout, like taking candy from a baby. The 2nd half was just a formality

We ended last season with a 50/50 split. Running the ball last season and this year has gotten us winning football. It allows the play action of which Tannehill is very good at. I've been surprised at how well he runs the play action pass play.

Run the ball, throw PA, play great defense. Sounds like a good plan to me.
