I live near charm city and watching the Ravens weekly show they all picked Miami to win. They're very down about their team. They know way more about their team than NFL network and it reminded me of how south Florida talking heads were unanimously picking the Bills in our first matchup. They know Miami is good, one guy asked how is it possible that SD got drubbed in Miami yet just beat the Ravens, the other looked deadpan at the camera and said…because they're good. Apparently Baltimore is struggling mightily in the red zone as well, and go figure…they think Thill is a rising star. We shall see

I think local fanbases will tell you some reality to some degree and they just came off that heartbreaker, but its true, the national media is all about who they want to win instead of who they think will win.

No break down at all. Just some basic crap and history or whatever....

media is terrible. I dont even want to watch pregames. Its the same people they talk about all the time. Brady, Manning, Rogers, Seattle, some A. Luck, Now they are back on Phillip Rivers jock.

whatever....same ol same ol

There was a regular ESPN blogger a day ago stating how Pittsburg had the #6 seed now due to the tiebreaker rules, their AFC Conf record and strength of schedule. Also stated that he verified it with ESPN's stats and rules experts. Media are generally LAZY and STUPID. That much is absolutely
True.

Look at the Ravens secondary--it's abysmal--31st in the league. Superstars like Andy freakin Dalton, Brian Hoyer, Mike Glennon all had 300 yds against them. Their media knows it, their fans know it and our coaches know it. If they can't get pressure on you with their front four they are dead because their secondary cannot cover a parked car. If Clay is able to play he will have a big day. Actual good QB's like Rivers and Brees killed them with 400 yds. Big Ben had 6 tds against them 4 wks ago. If we can protect RT we will have a good chance to beat them.

I've been saying for some time that this is a tough matchup for us because they are so physical on the D line and LB's, and they are well coached. Running game solid special teams solid. The key to the game comes down to three things: getting an aggressive pass rush from Wake, Vernon and Jordan, our LB's have to tackle better and giving RT time to throw. Bottom line if we are able to do those things we will have a great chance to win. Just something special about this Dolphins team. Go Phins!

Good analysis! I'll add a fouth thing they must do, finish with a lead.

Honestly we're riding high but we haven't done much special either.

Listen to the teams we've beaten: Oakland Jacksonville Chicago Buffalo, the Jets.

the only two impressive victories is week 1 against New England and San Diego. Other than those two games, we're beating pedestrian teams.

Well, we are "supposed" to beat the pedestrian teams. Oakland came within a bogus holding call on a "game winning" drive of upsetting the Pats in New England. Monday nights game was frustrating, and hard to watch.....like A LOT of games against the Jets for as long as I can remember. It's a week to week league. I really wasn't happy that the Ravens lost last week, because they are one of those teams that doesn't usually lose two in a row. (remember last season when we were so confident we would crush them after Flacco threw something like 6 picks against the Bills the week before...."WE WILL CRUSH THEM", most of us thought).

I really would like to see the pocket moved to neutralize the Ravens pass rush this week.

And as far as the media talking about the same teams over and over....I am so sick already of listening to everyone saying about how in two months we will get to enjoy a rematch of the Packers Patriots game. Yes, it could happen, but these robots act like every year the number one seed in each conference meets in the super bowl. lol

I'd say 4 things, because our pass rush will be a non factor if we can't stop Forsette. We have been exposed against the run and if we don't do anything about it this week, teams will continue to hammer us on the ground. Actually if we don't do anything this week it won't matter anyway. This is a playoff game IMO.

The Broncos added another olineman instead of a tight end and we were outnumbered at the point of attack. We didn't adjust. The Jets did the same thing plus threw the kitchen sink at us with a bunch of plays and formations we never saw before. We didn't adjust in the 1st half and almost waited too long. When we blitzed they ran outside of it. Like you said, there's no secret what they will TRY to do. They will TRY to pound us on the ground and we have to stop it. I'm hoping we try an elephant package up front to stuff the run. Wheeler should sit with that group. He's the weak link out there vs the run. Still think we should use Dion more as an OLB and see if he can take Wheeler's spot.

Two weeks ago it was Mark Schlereth saying how bad the Denver oline was and last week how we would blow out the Jets. This week it is the Baltimore media talking about how they will lose Sunday.

Do not listen to these people. Plus, you know we get everyone's best each week. Always happens.

true, but we went toe to toe with the greats at QB and two on the road. so.......lets keep things in perspective. The AFC North essentially has played the worst division in NFL history.

The national media still has a lot of nostalgia for the Baltimore teams, but the national media is rarely ahead of the curve. Baltimore fielded great teams for a long period of time and I think people project that they are a top team based off of the past, but the Baltimore team of this year and last year is very different.

Plus everybody is basing it on our recent history with the Ravens. Sunday is a new game.

The only thing I am worried about is our run D. If they can run like the Jets they have a better QB than Smith which could hurt us if we would start stacking 8 or 9 in the box to stop them. Right now I am positive that we will fix the run D. We have been better against the run this season than we showed in the last two games.
