And his current contract also says that he's signed untill the end of this season, so after that he will hit free agency and look for Ahmad Green type money.

What ever we can get for him, I'll take.
 
Doesnt Ricky still owe the Dolphins money? Is he in a position to demand a large contract from us?

Would another team sign him for a large contract following the season??

If we cut ties, I hope its via trade to get something in return. If he is reinstated and plays, I think he re-signs with us for similar contract terms next year as well since he owes the organization the $$$ anyway.

It may be but there is the human element of ego that gets involved in a lot of these things and it's clear that Mueller had and probably still does think very low of Williams personally.

He was dead on with his assessment that he'd flake but as you say, with his current contract and the potential impact he could have on this team as a 2nd option RB it would be a huge mistake to trade him for a low round pick.

If this happens it will lower my confidence in Mueller and his ability to be objective because again, if he trades him, it's all personal IMO.
 
I would take anything we could get for Ricky. I'm not denying his talent, but Cam and Randy are trying to build this team with some people who actually have some character, and I am all for that! Say 'bye-bye' to baggage and 'hello' to players who have their heads screwed on straight and are willing to give everything they've got to make this team better.

You've got an All Pro back that if he even brings 3/4 of his A game to the field will be better than just about any backup RB in the league.
You don't trade that talent for a 6th round pick and feel good about it.
All his whakyness aside he's a talent and you're NEVER going to have a team full of players with great "character". You just won't find enough talented people that don't have a couple of screws loose.
 
1 strike away from getting the boot for good. Get what you can before Mr. Rolled up Joint decides to puff it up one more time...

wanting to get healthy, stay of drugs, and working hard to return to prime shape shows no character... being able to do what is right in your heart despite public opinion shows no character...

were you one of the people pissed we didnt draft Quinn? geez...

it really gets me that the same people that dont get what Ricky did for this team, after being run into the ground by wanny, are the same people that think they know what's best for everyone else.

if we trade ricky, we will be sorry. maybe not financially... but teamwise.

While I agree with you about building a team with character, I dont consider RW a criminal type of guy, he did quit on the team, he did apologize, the veterans are happy having him back, he plays hard, comes cheap and is good.
If Mueller cuts him or trades him, would be only by Mueller personal vendetta.

Thank You!!!! He is a character guy....and a guy who still has a great burst and phenomenal instincts....he has the stuff you can't coach!
Cam should keep him and I'm sure Ronnie thinks so too!
