Kyle Orton - QB - Broncos

SI.com's Peter King believes the Kyle Orton-to-Miami trade "isn't dead."

Miami beat writers insist the deal still has legs while the Denver Post suggests the Broncos have moved on. King concedes that it may be a "longshot" at this point, but it makes too much sense for Orton's career. Explains King, "Five years down the road, if he doesn't end up in Miami, he'll be saying to himself, 'I should have redone my contract back in 2011. I should have figured how much they wanted to go with Tebow, and how I could have started from day one in Miami.'" http://rotoworld.com/playernews/nfl/football

Sports writers want to drag this thing on so they can get more hits. The sooner the fans let it go the sooner the story will be "dead" for real.

Keep bringing it up, keep holding out hope, that's what Armando Salguero and Peter King want...but you're going to be very disappointed when the season starts and all we have is Henne, Moore and Devlin.

If it doesn't get done by week 2 of the pre season its not getting done.

Maybe Mr King should realize that Orton knows Tebow blows and he is making a point because he is confident that if he plays well in Preseason they have to play him ahead of Tebow - or look dumber than they already do

Im sorry but this trade makes too much sense not to happen. Orton will be our QB this year.

I would love for Orton to be our QB.. But we will see.. Think Henne could turn the corner if he is givin the chance.. But again we will see.. No matter what i will support who ever wins the job.. Go Fins

p { margin-bottom: 0.08in; } I like that Orton stands his ground. I'd like to see Orton stay put and beat out Tebow. A large portion of Broncos fans are idiots. Tebow is nothing but another hyped Florida QB (ALL OF EM NFL FAILURE), only more hyped and worshiped by people having not much football intelligence or intelligence. Tebow might be able to run, but he can't read defense - that is all you need to know. Orton did well in his two years at Denver, anyone watched their games can tell that.

How many times has Fins screwed up on QBs since No.13. I bet some fans still hurting on the Brees case. Now here's another Purdue QB, what do you do. Well, at least you will be able to laugh at the Cardinals in years to come for their signing of Kolb.

I believe in the end, Elway wants to tank the season in order to get Luck. That's his goal. He want's to add to his legacy and what better way than to land the best QB prospect in 20 years. I don't blame Orton for his position, but I do think King is right. Denver knows Orton is not the Savior, so they're rolling with Tebow to see if all that hype is warranted, and if/when that fails, it's Hello Andrew Luck. Orton should figure he has a better future in Miami if he believes himself to be the QB that he does.

This offseason, it is overwhelming how frequently Ireland and Ross are employing the tactic of "We'll go after someone better, and if that doesn't work out...oh well! Not like it'll anger or affect the person we already have in a negative way!"

If any of us ran a business that way, we would be chucked out on our butt. There is cut throat, and then there is just dumb.

here is where i am almost positive is the problem:

orton has said all along, "i am a starter in this leauge, i am not backing up or mentoring tim tebow or anyone else. i have been a productive starter and improved every year and i'm not stopping now". [this is what i want to hear out of my qb!!]

i do not believe that the finz have given him ANY sign they will be benching henne. and he doesnt want to come in and do his thing just to see a stuborn coach stay with his pet project and them clutching on to him because he is a great plan B and he will have to rot on the bench for 3-4 years and most likely, hold out and force a trade from miami. one big mess costing orton years on his career!

its already been said that the deal never reached the broncos office, it hasnt gotten past orton and his agent, no broncos compenstation was discussed. so WHY? tebow wants to start and wants out of town. supposedly, here it is? and i havnt heard of any salary or pic goff from the finz. so whats the deal? he knows the finz have NO PLAN on starting him outside of injury.

we have another wanny/feidler fiasco on our hands. sparano and ireland are glued to henne and orton has figured that out and wants no part of it. and i cant blame him!

I believe in the end, Elway wants to tank the season in order to get Luck.
That's his goal.

WELL, if thats the case, there better getting rid of orton and starting tebow because orton has played pretty damned good producing the leauge leading wr in the past 2 out of 3 years and low int rate.

doesnt compute. and its been reported that this thing hasnt reached the broncos brass yet. all the talking has been with orton and his agent. it hasnt gotten past that yet so there not doing anything, tanking for luck or not!!
