in kings monday morning qb today he says daunte culpepper better watch out new dolphins coach cam cameron is going to go by what he sees on the practice field in the weight room and in meetings.he goes on to say if culpepper doesnt come back with a renewed sense of purpose this winter that he has a feeling he will be writing a story in august about one cleo lemon.what do you think of king's words finfans?

Not bothered by it at all. That's what the coach does, he evaluates the talent on his team and determines who starts and who sits. Sounds to me like Cam would be doing what he's been hired to do.

I hope Culpepper returns to 2004....but it's 2007!

If culpepper fails, or looks flat in training camp. I wouldn't mind seeing Cleo Lemon, and a drafted QB duke it out for starter!

I want this team to start fresh!....However that may be!

make total sense. Cameron has no reason to stick with culpepper unless culpepper proves he wants it more then anyone else.

Cause i can gaurantee, Cleo wont miss one meeting, workout session, or film session.

The is no reason to cut/trade Culpepper this season. We save, what like $1 million? Though we have to eat over $5.5 million in dead cap space.

Culpepper will be(has to be) given a shot to return to form this offseason and the upcoming training camp. This team would be VERY foolish to part ways with him at this point in time. You can still go out and draft a quarterback in a high round, but to give up on a player like Culpepper after you traded a 2nd round pick would be downright idiotic.

I think he is 100% accurate .... he will look at him in MAR and go from there ... I don't think the weight room says that much about a QB ... it 'looks' good and sends a nice message to your team-mates -- but

Now; if he is studying film, working on mobility, losing some weight -- and shows it in MAR .... then rock on

lol peach, sorry to hear that packer game was your first experience at a live game...

that game was so bad.. i was there too

I am hoping they do decide to play Lemon as the starter because I think C-Pep is done.

The thing is Cam didn't trade that 2nd. Even if he did it wouldn't matter, what is done is done. If the guy isn't getting it done he will get tossed.

He needs to be given a chance to see if he can "get it done". It usually takes a full two years for someone to recover from an injury like this. 2007 was a realistic come back time and 2006 was just wishful thinking by the fans and media. You can't base a decision on Culpepper because he couldn't move and didn't play the whole year. The 2007 Culpepper will be VASTLY different then the 2006 Culpepper.

As well it should be. Plus the salary cap takes another $2M jump into the 2008 season, so we wouldn't exactly be losing a whole lot by carrying that dead cap.

That's exactly what the coach should say and do. And it should be true for every position. Either work your butt off and show improvement in your game or get out of the way and let another player who wants it bad enough in there. It was Jason Taylor who said a player can always work on improving, that's probably why he carries a DPOY award.

Not a problem with it. CPep needs to get in shape, and get his act together or he's not starting. The better QB will start. Plain and simple. Would have been better if Saban hadn't played CPep in the beginning of the season when he clearly wasn't ready....
