the giants cut there cornerback peterson. what do you guys think, he had injuries but do you think saban wants him. I think we should pick him up.
the news is on nfl.com that he was relaeased

i think he has loads of talent and saban could make him into something great. i dont know if we can afford it or if saban even likes him. all i know is he can cover and is very fast. id love this pick up. if he didnt start he would add great depth but only for cheap. we dont have much cash left so we need to spend it wisley.

I can't say I know a lot about him, but based on what you're saying, why would they get rid of him?

Will Peterson? I remember in 2002 when a lot of people felt like he was one of the most underrated CB's in the league just because his INT numbers aren't up there, and thought he should've been a Pro Bowl alternate at least. They used to call them "Will & Will" - Peterson and our very own, Will Allen. This guy has a load of potential, and was very solid in 2004 only to suffer from a season ending injury last year. I wouldn't mind seeing both of those guys reunited again here in Miami.

I believe his career is in serious doubt due to a back injury.

HOWEVER, if he needs a year to rehab, based on recent history, Saban certainly has no problem picking him up and sticking him on IR for the year.

he has loads of talent the back injury is why they dropped him. i think he can over come that. look at steve nash. i dont know if you know his story about his disks or what ever but he won 2 straight mvps. i know thats b-ball. but all im saying is that peterson is talented and its not that seriuous of an injury he just needs a little time to recover and nyg didnt feel like waiting for him. i think we should take a look at him. we could end up with a great cb. if his injury is to worse well that would suck but nick would evaluate him and find this out.

who knows they dropped Will Allen for Sam Madison didn't they ?

Well, Will Allen was an UFA and they got Sam Madison for cheap; real cheap.

We gave Will Allen a 4-year/$12m deal, and that's dirt cheap for a 27-year old starting caliber CB in today's game. However, I think they got Madison for a bit under $2m per year, if not $2m flat.

Considering Madison's recent play, that is what he earned. Look, the guy was a terrific Dolphin, so I have a lot of respect for him... But he was not getting it done, and I dont see that changing in New York.

Like I said, if you look at Nick's moves, it is clear that he has no problem picking up a guy based on talent and putting the player on IR for the year.

Examples: Shirdonya Mitchell, Rodrique Wright

They were talking about him on Sirius this morning. They made his injury sound quite serious, possibly causing retirement. Something about a problem with his spinal cord and hot spots in his back. I;m not a doctor and have no clue what that means or if they even knew what they were talking abou though.

yeah his back injury caused him being cut...but if we do bring him in...our medical staff is top notch so id trust them alot if they tried to bring him in

i agree i wasnt saying put him on ir for a year. i meant it by saying that if he needs maybe 2 months to recover than i think we should look at him. if its the year let him go. i was trying to say if our staff thinks he can contribute than bring him in. and if not it would suck to have to pass on that talent and sucks for peterson b/c he seems he likes the game a lot.
