Just caught the stream of his press conference. I guess Michael Vick is STAYING in Atlanta.

Another quote: '' There is no question about it, Michael Vick is our starting QB today and I am really looking forward to working with him, he is going to be one of the first phone calls I make when I have free time and he will be the starting QB''

''I want to hire one of the best coaching staffs as I can, hopefully a mix between NFL and college and no definites yet''

So for all you who think he's going to draft a quarterback and trade Vick; NOPE .

Bets of luck Petrino with Ron Mexico, aka The Coach Killer.

Hopefully Wayne Huizenga can draw up a contract with our next coach that prevents him from leaving for another coaching job....you would think there has to be a way from keeping a coach from bolting so easily.

should be interesting, but he will work to mike's strenghs

i think that is a great hire for the falcons.

Then you my friend(Petrino)have your work cut out for you.Vick is an overglorified track star, that is a me,myself, and I guy. That so-called BIG ARM of his,is useless being that he has no clue on how to look off receivers. That's why he takes off, if Crumpler is dead in the water.Michael Vick=MOST OVERRATED PLAYER IN THE NFL!!!

Remember, Lefors was a poor mans Vick and Petrino had some people on this site wanting to draft him.

Petrino also said "No, I'm not leaving Louisville. I'm in this for the long haul. I don't want to be anywhere but here".

So what? Whats he going to say? Im glad to be here but if a good NFL job comes along Im leaving, thanks for the paycheck? I dont have a problem with coaches leaving to move up or in Saban's case to move back, I just dont like the way Saban patronized the fans and media, Saban was a complete liar about what was going on with Alabama. Petrino probaly meant what he said here when he said it. Saban knowingly was lying all the way for a good month or more about his intentions for Alabama.

I still think there should be an over/under bet on Matt Schaub getting the full time starter's job.

I would think Schaub is going to be traded or he will leave as a FA soon as he gets the chance. Its kind of sad for a guy to have to sit around like he has, he probaly could have started for another team 3 years ago.

That's my point though. Petrino, at the time, probably honestly thought he was going to stay in Louisville. Things changed. My point was that things could very well change with the Vick and Schaub situation, and I really don't but into Petrino's word.

Having said that, my opinion has changed since I've found more info. about it. It seems that they're going to give Vick one year in Petrino's system to see if it works out.
