Cross Pettigrew off Bills' wish list[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]...The tight end position is one of the Buffalo Bills needs heading into the draft, but don't expect the Bills to take Oklahoma State TE Brandon Pettigrew with their first round pick. Pettigrew was arrested on Jan. 20, 2008 on complaints of assault and battery on a police officer and public intoxication. Prosecutors originally charged Pettigrew with felony assault and battery on a police officer, but reached a plea agreement with Pettigrew in which he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault and battery, and misdemeanor public intoxication in the incident. Although this was an isolated incident, with the recent arrests of Donte Whitner, Marshawn Lynch and Ko Simpson, I highly doubt if the Bills' braintrust will take a chance on any prospect with character issues in the upcoming draft. I'll say it right now and stand by it. Andre Smith will be a big-time flop in the NFL. He will be unmotivated and he has already proved he is an idiot. Not a good combination. Some team is going to waste a pick on that turd

As long as it's not the Dolphins...lets hope he goes to a AFC team...like the Jets.:D
 
I really don't understand why any team would take a TE in the first round, just look at Olson and Davis for their impact and that's enough to wait until the 2nd or later.

Guys say you don't take a center in the first (which I think is silly when Oline is so important and the Center is the man calling all the schemes) but TE seems to be the one position I'd never select in the 1st.

Saying that I would hope Buffalo does select a TE in the 1st to waste another pick!!!
 
man you guys are lame . pettigrew is well loved here and he made a mistake but the officer has a reputation of starting truoble with the athletes in Stillwater . besides he is the best athlete in round 1 and if he went to a school like forida or florida state some of you would be saying take a chance on him.

andre smith is who really screwed by wolking out of the combine.

I dont buy into a player being a bad seed because he had a confrontation with a police officer , just for reference check ou the chambers situation when he got picked up for a dwi . just because a person has a confrontation doesnt automatically make him a bad person.

Pettgrew had two ou players pick a fight with him in a resteruant the police officer has a bad reputation for being overbearing .

there is more to this then waht was posted.
