PFT: Bucs Plan to Take Their Time To Hire Coach

Or someone from Tampa may be feeding PFT a line so nobody tries to snatch up Zimmer (or someone else) before they get a chance. I trust nothing coming out of the press these days, so let's not drag our heels too much.

I wouldn't put stock in what the media throws out for two reasons. One, the general population is like a baby who yearns for food, and the media feeds it to them. Not all food is healthy (true), and the media knows that. And two, they have a job to report something, and even if they're wrong in the end, they know that once in a while, they might strike enough gold to keep them somewhat credible. Let the organization decide who the best candidate is, but I wouldn't put weight into what the majority of the media says about it.

For example, Zimmer wasn't in Miami this past weekend, yet some media reported that he was in for a second interview. They spin it very well.

Well, certainly. I'm not putting too much stock in it while at the same time I'm hoping this one has a small grain of truth lol

If Ross decides he doesn't want Zimmer, fine. I personally think he's the best candidate but I'm sure there are other candidates who would do a good job as well. I won't care who it is a year from now as long as the team is performing. But I'll be mad if I feel like Ross would have picked him but waited around too long, only to have him stolen away. And he has to know the media would eat him alive for that as well, given how they're all claiming (who knows if its true) that Zimmer is the front runner for the job.

With shizzle like this, there's nearly as much disinformation being disseminated as the period prior to the Draft. I'm taking it all with a grain of salt.

I think the best candidate for the Bucs is Chudzinski. Just look at what he did with Newton. He might be able to do the same with Freeman.
Their defense needs more help than their offense...plus it's 4-3 personnel already. If I'm Zimmer and I have to choose between Dolphins and Bucs I'm going to the Bucs...they already have a QB, 4-3 personnel, higher draft pick and a lot of pieces on offense...a lot of young pieces on offense...two 2nd year WRs, a young QB, strong running game, a good TE...just need a better O-line another TE or WR on offense and he can mold the defense pretty easily.
