With the Miami Dolphins staggering to a 1-3 start -- and losing Sunday on the road to the lowly Houston Texans -- we're told that some players on the team are beginning to grouse about the offseason decision to hire former Bills coach Mike Mularkey to be the team's offensive coordinator.

That is the worst thing that could happen, players badmouthing the coach.

Thanks. Hadn't seen it.

It also mentions Saban will have to start considering Harrington soon if he doesn't even trust Culpepper to get him a two point conversion to tie the game.

True, maybe it's Saban that should be the one to be having a little talk with Mularkey, and his play calling (With the extreme lack of throwing the deep ball). When teams blitz, you need to make them pay for it, 5-10 yard recp are not going to stop any team from continuing to blitz, and there have been many plays per game where there was plenty of time to take a shot, and you could see Daunte not even looking deep.

I am so FUSTRATEDI could explode!!!! All day at work I have to hear about the JETS and how bad the DOLPHINS are...How many more years of suffering!!!! 1 lousy SUPER BOWL before I die, thats all I ask!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!:fire:

I recall Losman throwing to the reciever who was in the spot where the blitzers were coming from. Not flashy but he moved the ball when he needed to. I am not worried about big plays, if they are there great if not lets get our players chances to make plays...Brown, Chambers, Booker etc..

Now THAT is a powerful statement. Yeesh...!

but but...i dont get it, Mularkey did such a GREAT JOB for Buffalo the past years...and its not like Buffalo is our arch-rival or anything, right??? so if he did SO WELL for buffalo, its no wonder we hired him....its not like we'd hire someone from our arch-rivals who did poorly there.....right??:sidelol:

BS.... The "Super Bowl Dreams" were just that....dreams....

you could have any coaches in the league right now and you still wouldn't be winning a Superbowl....You're not anywhere near talented enough to win a Superbowl.....

At what point do we just cut our losses and get rid of Mularkey??

If I hire an assistant to help me out in my store and he is screwing up the schedule for a month, loses all the respect of the team and cannot speak to customers he is GONE!
Here we have a guy making a TON of money running the ball 15 times a game with a young back that we spent a great draft pick on and not only are the results pathetic but the plan is pathetic too.

The only saving grace to my hypotheticla assistant would be me seeing him do the RIGHT things and making the right decisions yet struggling anyway.

Again I will say it (im getting sick of it too) ask ANY coach in the league and they will say running and defense is the way to win.

1) It's tough to throw a deep pass from your back

2) Culpepper is checking down to RB's WAAAY too fast because he's hearing footsteps.

The problem is the offensive line, plain and simple.

"Then again, maybe the fact that Saban took the ball out of Culpepper's hands at such a critical time tells us everything we need to know about the current state of the franchise, and of the big-name quarterback it swiped (or so we thought) from the Vikings for a second-round draft pick. Really, if Saban won't let Culpepper try to be the one to tie the game with less than two minutes to go, we don't think it'll be much longer before Saban decides to go with the other formerly high-profile quarterback whom he acquired from an NFC North team."

Good read. I don't put much faith in trash rumors from PFT - but agree with the conclusion of this article! Why did the coaches decide to trust Brown - instead of Daunte - with making the play?

This makes me wonder who the cancer was in our dressing room the few seasons he was with us. The players who spoke badly about him or the players who supported him, or the coach himself?
