Multiple league sources tell us that the Arizona Cardinals have selected Texans assistant Mike Sherman to be their next head coach. It’s not known whether a contract has been finalized, but the word is that Sherman is getting the job.
....
The Cardinals’ latest string of hires doesn’t include a former Lions coach, since even the Cardinals aren’t that desperate.

Another job filled, another candidate who wasn't on Miami's radar. :dolphins:

Didn't want him, horrible move by the Cards if this is true.

I'm glad Arizona didn't take anyone we cared about.

Side note: PFT redesigned their site? Wow, it actually looks somewhat professional now. And hey, an RSS feed! That was only about 2 years overdue...

Hard to say if Sherm is a good coach or bad coach, he didn't get a fair chance in GB IMO, I hope someone takes all the talent in Arizona and does something with it. I think they are close, they need a good coach, and I gotta tell ya, with the talent there Martz would be an awsome fit for them. With all the offensive fire power there they would atleast be scoring a lot of points. It would all depend on who the DC would be under Martz.

Looks the same to me.

Looks the same to me.

Same basic color scheme and layout, updated everything else. Lots of CSS and some evidence of Photoshop work. It doesn't look like an amateur's Saturday afternoon project anymore. Florio finally decided to hire a professional web designer, it seems.

I'm a little surprised by the move, if true. He wasn't on my short list either so no harm done here.

Where it might come into play is if it puts more pressure on the guys who are still candidates, once the jobs start to come off the table one by one...

a retread and a college coach so far? great luck for us

Yesssssss. I thought Cameron will end up going there since they have so many offensive weapons. Good job Cards for your pick.

If true this is great news. It means that the only true competition we have left to get one of the 12 coaches that we interviewed is Pittsburgh and they will likely pick one of their two internal guys. Looks like Coughlin's not going anywhere and baring a major collapse with Shotenheimer, we should be in the drivers seat to have the pick of the litter of this coaching crop...

Seems like a bad move for the Cardinals to me too.

He is way too low key they need a much larger head coach presence to move that sad franchise forward...

Of all the openings that one seemed like the best IMHO. They have lots of talent a very good QB and a brand new stadium.

Miami hasn't interviewed Norm Chow yet. I presumed he would end up with the Cards. Does he become our 13th interview?

 Don't think anyone saw this one coming, I guess that's why the Cardinals are what they are  Although on their site they are saying Whisenhunt comes in for a second interview tommorow.
