PFT Power Rankings: Dolphins come in at 27

I'm sorry we lost 6 games by 7 pts or less in 07... You get the point.

Dude when we went 1-15 in 07 we lost something like 7 games by 6 points or less. Does it matter? The only smart thing that Parcells ever said was "you are what your record says you are" and last year we were pretty damn bad.

Then with better coaching, new schemes and some new players they made the playoffs the following season in 2008. I am not predicting playoffs this season but 8-8 is reasonable. Don't write them off this upcoming season.

I am not ignoring the 0-7 start. Isn't that the reason Sparano lost his job?

But lately Miami has been ranked below the Bills, Chiefs, Redskins and Raiders. Four teams(five games) they beat by a combined score of 150-67. Yes, they lost to the Browns(by one point) after Nolan's defense collapsed. In three games against the Cowboys, Giants and Patriots they lost by a combined 7 points. The Dolphins did not have a good record, but it wasn't like they were being blown out every week or never in games they lost. There are more bad teams on the Dolphins schedule than there were last season, which is why I think along with the new changes they can win 8 games. Maybe even 9.

Even our 6 wins last year were against crap teams. Name one decent team we beat last year. Any playoff teams we beat? HOW ABOUT ANY TEAMS WITH A WINNING RECORD....

Our 6 wins were meaningless....

We didn't just beat the "crap" teams, we blew them out. A lot more "crap" teams on the 2012 schedule compared to the 2011 schedule. Even you have to admit that 8-8 is a realistic expectation for this team.

Marshall was a big weapon for us, and he opened up a lot for the rest of our offense whether u want to admit it or not.

When Brandon Marshall arrived the offensive rankings in yards and points both went down for both seasons he played as compared to before he was here.

Yeah, he really opened it up. NOT!

I actually think this is about right, way too many changes this off seaason, we're completely changing the whole offense and defense, no true impact 1st round draft pick at least for this year, and way too many holes after a largely disapointing FA. The strength of schedule is the only thing giving me any hope, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if we are in the hunt for Matt Barkley next April, which if we are would make this year's 1st round draft pick even worse than I initially thought.

We would have been a lot worse without him... A 2-4 win team. If you believe otherwise then I'm not sure you're living in reality.

I agree that your record is the only indication of where you are as a team but comparing a 1-15 season with a 6-10 season related to losing so many games by a few points each....it isn't an equal discussion. The Dolphins could have easily been 8-8 if the defense was able to stop teams when they needed to. It isn't a stretch to call them an average team (not bottom 5).
