AJ Boyue can be "cheap" in cap space with the release of Maxwell, kind of. Land him and Zietler and that's it..Focus on draft. Maybe though eith the savings in the cut of Maxwell Miami can sign Brandon Williams..Space eating freak.

Then focus on LB/DE in the draft.
 
Poe is a 2 gap DT and doesn't fit our scheme.

I also highly doubt Hightower would want anything to do with our defense. He'd be bored as hell.
 
A bunch of names on that list to kick the tires on. Good FA group this year. Deep draft as well. A competent FO has the opportunity to help this team take the next step. For those optimistic Tannenbaum fans, I hope you're right.
 
I think Miami will be mostly bargain hunting. May want to look for a speed receiver on the cheap to replace Stills, but I still think the focus should be on finding a starting guard.

The offense, even if Stills leaves which looks likely, has some options and the addition of Thomas at tight end should help.
 
I think any of these guards would be great. Try to get at least one.

Larry Warford
T.J. Lang

Then DE. Again at least one.
Jason Pierre-Paul
Calais Campbell
Chris Baker

Then LB. At least one of these if we can't get a DE.

outside linebacker Datone Jones
outside linebacker Erik Walden
outside linebacker Jabaal Sheard

If we can get one of each, I'd consider FA a grand slam home run.
 
(10) Calais Campbell intrigues because we need a base DE that can play the run and kick inside on passing downs.
(26) Larry Warford is my first move of FA. Gotta solidify the guard spot and he'll be cheaper than Zeitler.
(33) Micah Hyde: A swiss army knife who can man the slot and provide valuable depth at safety.
(56) Captain Munnerlyn would be a significant upgrade to the slot.
(60) Alan Branch is a great plugger that shouldn't cost too much. Can slot him in next to Suh on running downs and free up the linebackers.
(61) If Kelvin Beachum is willing to play guard, where he's done a fine job over the course of his career he's a guy I could get behind. Would essentially give us the same versatility as a 3rd tackle that we had with Tunsil last year.
(66) Stefan Wisniewski is a guy I've always wanted to roll the dice on as a mid-lower tier option. Can backup Pouncey and has the talent to start at guard.
(90) Perry Riley because an average starter at LB is a significant upgrade.

Those are the guys that I'm interested in on first glance.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't he have a really excellent year last year and he's still super young? I expect him to get $10mil/year+
 
the Dolphins (and many other teams) have spent big bucks on big name guys over the years, and never made the playoffs for almost 10 years....until this year. Let other teams over-spend. I will happily take Warford over Zeitler, and Perry Riley for LB.
 
I hate the idea of getting the most expensive free agent guards... every single season we see above average guards sign for reasonable contracts and make an insane change for their respective offenses.

1 of Warford/Zietler/Andrew Norwell (RFA, only interested if hit with low tender)
1 of Nick Perry/Jabaal Sheard

Others I would like to look at....

Sam Shields
Luke Joeckel, maybe a 1 year prove it deal.
Aldrick Robinson to replace Stills
Fasano

Well sort of...but there's a chance all the guys I mentioned with the exception of Zeitler will go for less than 10M/year.
