The Way We Hear It from Pro Football Weekly

Cam Cameron’s departure for the Miami head-coaching job is considered a significant loss for the Chargers. Cameron is credited with helping Drew Brees emerge as an elite quarterback and getting Philip Rivers up to speed in his first season as a starter, but insiders really appreciated his ability to exploit opponents’ weaknesses and spread the ball around with creative play-calling. The first two in-house options who will be considered to replace Camerson are RB coach Clarence Shelmon and WR coach James Lofton, but Marty Schottenheimer is likely to take a look around the league before making a decision.

lofton will be fins new wr's coach mark it down im predicting it.

We needed PFW to tell us that?

I thought they picked someone already, no?

No. Steve Sarkisian withdrew his name and he was the supposed frontrunner. James Lofton ( a hall of fame wide receiver for those who don't know. BTW shame on you if you don't) withdrew his name as well. They are down to Rob Ryan, their DC or Jim Fassel.

As for Lofton, I doubt he leaves San Diego for a lateral move in Miami. I could be wrong, but I assume he would stay in San Diego. Furthermore, he is a Bill in my eyes.

Last I heard they were talking to USC co-offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin about taking the job that Sarkisian didn't want.

RAIDERS EYEBALLING KIFFIN
Days after the Raiders were interviewing USC co-offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin to become the offensive coordinator in the Steve Sarkisian regime, the Raiders are now talking to Kiffin about taking the job that Sarkisian didn't want.
NFLN's Adam Schefter reports that Kiffin is being interviewed for the position.

Is Loften still under contract cause if he is then SD will block us from getting him. Even if we want to offer him the OC job the NFL does not consider this a promotion for so reason and they can block us from talking to him then as well. Miami did this to the Browns this year when they wanted to talk to Garrett to be they OC.
