The Dolphins believe their 2005 draft class is the team’s best rookie crop in a decade. For the first time since 1996, three rookies have started at least 10 games  RB Ronnie Brown (12), LB Channing Crowder (11) and CB Travis Daniels (10). And all three players have proven they have what it takes to keep those starting spots for years to come. In addition, DE Matt Roth is playing and contributing to the D-line rotation, and DT Manny Wright, a supplemental draft pick, is starting to realize his vast potential, picking up his first career sack in Week 13. Plus, John Denney and Alex Holmes, a pair of undrafted rookies, also are regular contributors, with Denney serving as the team’s long-snapper and Holmes splitting snaps as an H-back and blocking tight end.
This is a summary of what's been said on the board, but it's nice to hear the professionals say it!

It was a very good draft for us. Anytime you have rookies drafted in the 3rd and 4th rounds and come in from their first year and contribute to your team, you have found some pretty good players. Crowder in particular, that guy was all over the field against the Chargers. He is going to be the man in Miami in a few years.

They're right. Saban needs to feel proud about his first draft. I can't think of any other team that has as many rookies successfully contributing. The fact that we have three rookies starting blows my mind.

I'm starting to read a lot of stuff like this. Saban's system will take time,so if "time" is the price we pay for a championship then so be it.

imagine what we will do with this draft and FA period. just amazing if u ask me.

And to think that Saban was somewhat handicapped in that draft due to Wanny and Spielman's wheelings and dealings.

I just thank god they didn't trade our first round pick at any point out of desperation.

And better yet, Saban has a whole other draft to work with. Plus more cap space then we've had in a while.

This will no doubt be the most exciting offseason in my 14 years as a fan.

Agreed on all those points above. His knowledge of these players especially SEC guys that he coached or coached against is really gonna help these next 2 drafts. He has seen these guys in person in game action, not on film. For all those people that are hanging on Matt Roth just remember this guy is entrenched behind proven veterans in Taylor, Carter, Bowens, etc. Roth had three sacks in the Capital One Bowl last year against Saban at LSU. I'm sure he came away impressed with him and just give the guy time. You wouldnt be all over Travis Daniels if he was behind Patrick Surtain if he was still around would you?

I'm pretty sure we'd still be all over Daniels since most of us were favorable towards Poole even when we still had Surtain and Madison here.

I hope we can come out and play like we did against SD in the next few weeks, as well as into next year :D

They said the same thing that a lot of us have been saying on this board.Nick had a great draft/free agency and I'm looking forward to more of the same.In the end I think is gonna be 6 starters,Ronnie,Crowder,Daniels,Manny,Roth and Vickerson but Manny will count for 2006 in a way but we got him this year.

Ozzy rules!!

Go Italy 2006 world cup

roth was a projected 1st rder aroudn the 15th area middle of the year last year n then dropped but not sure why. kind of interesting if u ask me. Manny should be hte starter and vickerson was a rookie 7th correct? cuz i hear a lot about him here bfeore his injury. was wondering how he was maybe any footage on him? Daniels will be good due to his oppurtunity of learning on the field this year rather hten next year. expect good things from him. this years draft we shoudl ahve some KEY players as well and look how much our rookies have impacted our team this year, imagine next yea wiht our rookies being back for their 2nd year iwht exp. especially crowder/daniels/manny and brown with a better line hopefully to help him and imagine how much our rookies for this comin draft would impact us and FA. it should be a total turnaround and about 20 NEW players including the 6 or so from this years. should be GREAT SB contendors.

I HOPE that this year is a repeat of last year's FA and draft. That would be just amazing. However, I don't know if it is realistic to EXPECT a repeat. Remember how people were saying Jimmy Johnson was such a drafting genius, but even he had a few busts every year. IF Saban truely has another draft/fa like he did last year... He should be called the Messiah of the draft.
