Phil Simms was on siruis today talking about the Dolphins Wide Outs. He said they are so bad the coaches have to scheme up 7 or 8 plays just get a WR open on a simple curl route. He mentioned that we have serious issues at that position and that we easily have the worst group in the league and possibly the worst he's ever seen. He said he's excited to see how we upgrade our WR Corps in the off-season. He also said Henne is as good and could end up being better than Flacco and Ryan.

lol wow. 7 or 8 plays to get open on a curl route?

Well, it's not like we won't have an opportunity to draft a big time wideout in the draft.

Plenty to chose from.

I disagree about how bad they are, when we see nothing but tight coverage why would you run curl routes? We do not run enough crossing patterns or rub routes.

I'm not saying their real good at all but Hartline shows a tonne of upside, Bess is real good, Cam catches everything yet we hardly throw his way. We lack a down field TE, and a goto Receiver. We certainly don't need to completely overhaul the group, a FA and a draft pick will help a tonne.

I like P.Simms, but he's alittle off here, the group definitely needs help.

wait a sceond, Cam catches everything but we hardly throw his way? Because I am sure Henne says, LOOK Cam is WIDE OPEN and will catch it 100% but eh, screw it, I dont feel like going his way.

No one on this team can get open because they are all SLOW POSSESSION number 3 or 4 WR's. Not one of em is even a number 2. Don't be bias bro, think about it. Would these guys be a number 2 on ANY OTHER team? bess is a number 3 and he is our BEST WR and he is a number 3 because we like him a lot not because he is that good. He is GOOD but not number 2 GOOD and not number 3 on every team good.

Agree, for sure! :logic:

Read the whole post, bro. We run routes (outside of the Quick screen) that don't fit the players. NE runs Welker on crossing routes, quick in, quick outs, quick slants....do you ever see him run curls or fly routes?

Bess could do everything Welker does, Hartline can run any route and has the most upside. Is he a number 1 right now or a great number 2, no because he's a rookie still learning the game but shows the promise being real good. Cam is the 15 yard out, dig route type receiver.

Speed has squat to do with getting open, route running does that for you. Ginn would be the greatest receiver on earth if it was about speed.

I clearly stated they need help, a number 1 would be awesome and you wouldn't be complaining about the rest of the core. But as long as your disappointed none of them are equal to a #1 right now then you look at them as garbage. I see plenty of talent if used correctly and complimented by a top end #1 receiver. I also think with the safeties playing up more because of the run game it clogs the routes we run and a down the field TE and #1 receiver drops them both back opening up the shorter routes.

I was listening as well. He did Henne up big-time! Pat Kirwin was trying to be nice and ranked our receivers 28th in the league. Simms pretty much thinks we are dead last. I do as well.

B/c Big Belly has Moss to run the deep routes taht causes other teams to be worried, when Hartline runs that route, NO one on the other team is "worried." Prob no one even notices he ran that route but the CB covering him. Ginn sucks period. can't run routes, isn't tough, isn't a football player, is a *****, can't catch, hates impact but yet he plays a sport htat has NOTHING BUT IMPACT. He is smart, cashed in on millions jsut bc he can run fast, I'd do the same. Set for life.

Bess should run 5 yard crossing routes but he doesn't bc we use him as a number 2. He can still run those routes but we run 2 WR sets at most. I dont rem once running spread formation like NE does. Our front office has zero passing creatitvity ablity if tha tmakes sense lmao. But when you have Moss who can run a 20 yard route in the middle or deep n out, or their TE, or 2 WR running 10 yard routes and frees up Welker for a 5 yard crossing route. We run 15 O linemen and RB and FB and TEs but 1 WR. I dont know how we even have room for that 1 WR on the field when the entire offense is almost nothing but blockers. I can't rem the last time we ran a formation with 4 WR and we can't because we dont have a #1 or #2 that can do what that role asks for a set like that. If bess doesn't run a curl as a number 2 who is? Ginn runs deep routes to take a safety away outside of him Cam to run a 10 yard curl will take 10 minutes alone with his speed.

I like Hartline as a number 2 so far. And Bess will be a good slot. The others I think could go. If we keep Ginn all he is going to be doing is returning kicks. Maybe they will see if Sheets can do that??

1st- Dez Bryant 2nd- Jermaine Gresham 3rd- Jordan Shipley

Seriously, this solves our offense basically. we get one more year of R&R because of the CBA situation, then we find a guy who can come in and produce for us, like a jeff demps in the 2nd or 3rd..

Give Henne those weapons and watch out! HONESTLY, what is wrong with us doing that? our main needs are (in no order)

NT
WR
TE
LB

This could solve to of these. honestly, a lb group of JT/JP free agent ILB, Crowder, and wake are servicable for a short while.

Haynos, Fasano, Bess, Camarillo, Ginn dont even begin to cut it as "offensive weapons" what a joke honestly.

Which group needs more help?

JT/JP (if healthy), free agent ILB, Crowder, Wake
or
Haynos, Fasano, Bess, Camarillo, Ginn

NT can be signed.. or if worse comes to worse, we go to the 4-3 and put JT or Wake on the Dline.

So you agree with me, our guys are used wrong! Ginn does suck and won't be with us next year. Bring a number 1 in and all of a sudden these receivers that are getting bashed will become much better when their properly used. Hartline, Cam, Bess is a very good start, now the FO needs to fill in the blanks.
