NOt sure how many of you watched Denver and New England but did you notice the "WildHorse"? Did you hear what Simms said about it? He compared it to the Wildcat and said that it was smarter than the Wildcat because they leave the QB in and then motion him back in under center. Now, I do believe this is a smart move by McDanials but aren't we running the Wildcat at 7.8yard per play. I think ours is just as smart. Last tie I checked we haven't shown everything we intend to do with it either.
 
If you will notice, Phil Simms NEVER says ANYTHING good about the Dolphins or what they do. He picks against them EVERY week regardless! If we were playing at home against the Rams and GETTING 20 points, Simms would say "lay the points and take the Rams." He freaking hates us for some reason and NEVER gives us any credit for anything. Simms is a tool.
 
Yeah, it's ridiculous how the wildcat gets talked about. Last year it was a Gimmick, until, offensively it got us 10 wins and into the playoffs. Than half the NFL teams supposedly installed 'wilcat packages' and I heard all in the preseason how the Vikes with Harvin and eagles with Vick were going to blow the NFL away with their wildcat versions, but Mia is still the only team that runs it effectively and has been doing so for a season and a half.

Hes was right about it. The Broncos took what we did and improved it.

Simms is one of the better analysts out there.

Why do you guys get your panties in a wad anytime someone isn't completely complimentary of the Fins?
 
^ i gave you rep points for that one, i have a feeling your all red for no reason!

I personally think that Denver was very effective out of that formation, it made the defense not able to call a blitz fast enough. I hope the dolphins get henne under center in the "wildcat" but that's just what i hope for.

maybe the dolphins do that against new england also.
 
The WildHorse worked well because the Pats were selling out to stop the run when they lined up in it.

That's why it worked, cuzz if their is 8 in the box then one of your WR is going to be one on one.....So if their's 8 in the box then the QB comes and takes the snap if, if not they just run it.

And Simms has said a'lot of good things over the years about the Dolphins.

I agree I loved what they did with it. We're still getting much better production out of it though and is each team going to give their version of the wild cat a different name? I mean Tampa 2 is Tampa 2 even if the Browns are using it they dont call it Browns 2 for petes sake...
 
I saw only their first drive, I liked the idea of putting the QB there, interesting move.

I really wanted to see the Pats on offense though so sims could say the following,

(In his old man lost voice) Tom Brady is just so good, he really knows how to manipulate the Defense and put the ball where ever it needs to be, he's just too good. How can you not love Tom Brady?

yeah I was watching the Jets/fins divisional game from last year and a run play that got a first down on 3rd and 2 by Lou Polite where he got 5 yards up the gut, he says, "i'm not sure you want to run at the strenth of the Jet Defense."

This was after the play was over and the ref points first down! As Dolphin fans loudly scream "Lets go Dolphins!"

Simms says stupid stuff all the time and he actually helps the ref calls for New England all the time. He is always making excuses for Brady getting hit but the other team, "well, its warranted".

Simms is a douche. And he starts every broadcast with that ****-eatin grin that just pisses me off cus his bodylanguage is saying ---"I hate the Miami Dolphins."

It's actually damn near brilliant....they move the Qb outside, let him see the defense from a totally different angle, then if he sees a mismatch he goes back under center and snaps the ball before the D can make any adjustments...

Gotta give credit where credit is due.

Face it-teams everywhere are using it, but none compare. Ricky and Ronnie are studs. Thats why we run it.

you have to stop Ricky at full speed to the outside and Ronnie picking a hole. No one has really stopped it this year. It wears you down.

Thanks Smith. I get a few messages from time to time of support or other posters complaining about the "reputation thing". I don't sweat it.

I know that most posters want others to be "Go Team Go" and make excuses when things go poorly. I don't do that and I won't. If we suck, I will say it. If we aren't properly prepared, I will call the coaching staff out. So my "reputation" on the board suffers. Whatever.

But thanks for the props anyway. :up:

They just pass it when the other teams is playing to stop the run, or run it if the other team only has 7 in the box.

It's setup of the play off the wildcat that is new but it's not like they are reinventing the wheel.

The concept of running it when 7 are in the box and passing it when there is 8 is older then all of us.
