Was it me or did anyone else hear him say RT should not have thrown the last pass because it would only add to his turnover ratio?
Than it's an acknowledgment to a problem that definitely exists.
No elite Qb, or budding young elite Qb would get that advice.
But a struggling one that can barely get out of his own way, yeah, don't dare mess with your diminishing stats.
I needed a touchdown for a backdoor cover so I was happy he threw it, regardless of where it went. Much better chance on a bomb than on a ridiculous lateral play.
There were 55 seconds left. Get the first down. It didn't have to be a blind hail mary or a Cal-Stanford lateral fest.
55 seconds is plenty of time to march down the field. Just ask Matthew Stafford and the Detroit Lions, after they torched the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.
I think he said it'll add to the drama and he's probably right. When people use his TD to INT stats to prove he sucks nobody will mention this one or that one was a throwaway in garbage time.
RT shouldn't have thrown that last pass, since there wasn't a Dolphin receiver nearby. He basically threw it into a crowd of Patriots.
Throw it to your own receivers. Even if it's a short pass, at least he'll have a chance to break off a long run.
