Maybe the little firing up of our below average quarterback lit a fire!!! Thought he looked spirited...Just saying...

We will see how much a genius he is three or four weeks from now. A win is a win but Mr. Motivation Philbin isn't.

I think Philbin may be one of the smartest coaches in the league. But that doesn't make one a great decision maker or a great leader. You can be very smart and still be very stupid at the same time.

I think the reason that Philbin floated the idea of starting Matt Moore is because he was considering starting Matt Moore.

Make no mistake, Philbin is still as clueless right now as he was this morning, yesterday and the day before. This win, while nice, is not a reflection of the team - it actually shows how inconsistent the team is. I fully expect another 8-8 season, and hopefully Ross isn't hoodwinked into keeping in-over-his-head Philbin around for another waste of a season.

Agree on Philbin. On another note, I thought Jim Harbaugh made some Philbin ish decisions today. They shouldnt of came away with a w today and nearly blew it.

I think Dave Hyde summed it up perfectly:

It's as if Philbin tripped over a rake, crashed through a wooden door, smacked his head on the ground and might just have goofed his way into delivering the exact sort of message that Tannehill needed to hear.

They had a blocked punt, a punt return for a TD, and an interception return for a TD against them. And they still won the game.

Unless you want to blame Harbaugh for the special teams gaffes, I don't see how you can say that was bad coaching. Outside of a blocked punt and 2 return TDs, they crushed the **** out of the Eagles.

You mean Kapernick. I am thanful he is not the Dolphins QB. He doesn't have it between the ears.

I think this post was less about the coach and more of a cheap shot at the QB.

Thought the same thing. Tannehill haters will still try take their shots for the next few weeks.

No Ren I support THill, I just thought that the blow up over the Philbin/Thill "scandal" was a psychological move by the coach to lite a fire under Tannehill, who lets face has severely underpreformed, , and that the whole controversy was nothing more than media and "expert" types creating turmoil...I think it is a bigger condemnation of how our media sources, in and outside of sports, sensationalize so they can look intelligent, sell advertising or create chaos. The new wave of journalism...IMO

Right, maybe the coaching staff should pick out a player and throw them under the bus every week to see just how much they can get everyone on the locker room hating each other. What Failbin did was another sign of how much he is lacking in the leadership area. The team won in SPITE of Failbin not because of him.

Let's see what happens after the bye versus the Packers. Last year after the bye the team came out flat and tanked against the Bills' 3rd string QB. Let's see this team and coaching staff string 2 good games together in a row before we go calling Philbin a genius, LOL.
