One improvement I see over last year's team is something Philbin emphasized in the offseason and in his conversations with Don Shula. The team discipline has improved. We are the second least penalized team in the league. We are also even in turnover differential. If we can move that stat into the positive, we will really make progress in winning the battle for hidden yardage.

Get me those Damn Close wins and don't lose late in a game...then you'll be getting the things right that I care about

How about not having an offensive TD in the 4th quarter in the past six games?

Where is the "explosive" Green Bay offense he was supposed to bring?

Joe gives nothing as a head coach in terms of an advantage. At best, it is a neutral and that is not good enough.

Joe came here with a plan. I very precise and well-thought out plan. One that would take years to properly install. Some things have come up out of his control in his tenure. He learning to deal with those things like a professional. Anyone who wants to rid of Joe needs to wake up.

It's hard to bring that "explosive" Green Bay offense when, a) Aaron Rodgers is not your QB; and b) your GM surrounds your 2nd year QB with the worst O-line in the game.

But, yeah, you're right... the HC is what's going to give us an advantage during the game.

:rolleyes2:

You don't think the HC matters on game day?

I am awake alright. He is two games below .500. Came out flat after the bye and with extended time to prepare. His teams have got the lead and yielded the advantage away shortly after. He has proven to be stubborn and not willing to adjust. Young players are not developing.

I think he is underachieving with this team.

Young players are not developing?

Tannehill
Clay
Carroll
Wilson
Odrick

So there are a few injured rookies, big deal. **** happens. Ill tell you what, Ill book it that if 100% healthy, D. Jordan and J. Taylor will both be pro bowlers in the future. They are both special.

But you expect perfection so you will never be satisfied or give Joe props when deserved.

if I had to break it down into percentages...

75% QB, 20% O-line, 5% Coach

so, no, not really.

Nice percentages. So a defense, RB, WR, TE, Special Teams have nothing to do with success. Terrible.

I do not expect perfection. I expect the team to PROGRESS. I called for progress this year...not to be "perfect", not to win the division, not to make the playoffs. I do not think the team is progressing. Sorry. If you think they are...more power to you. However, get back to me when they play a complete game.

With a depleted team and still some holes to fill, the team IS progressing. This team right now can beat last years team easy. Last season the dolphins have 0 offensive production from WRs. Hartline had one breakout game where he was left wide open many times.

Most importantly, the QB has progressed. Thats what matters. Next season with a healthy cast and rebuilt line WATCH OUT! This offense will be deadly!

So, let me make sure I understand your thinking. If we make the playoffs, but it doesn't appear to YOU that the team has progressed in some measurable areas, you think we should just abandon Joe, even though you didn't expect the Dolphins to make the playoffs this year, showing progression? Just terrible. :bobdole:

That part unfortunately sounds a lot like a former coach of this team

Making the playoffs is MAJOR progress. I would love it and applaud his efforts.

When major statistical categories have not changed much that is not progress. When you are given more toys via free agency and there are no gains...that is not progress. When you are .500 it is questionable if that is progress or not.

IF the team went .500, but improved in major statistical categories, I would call it progress.

Do you know what is funny? My success bar for Philbin is lower than many that are defending him right now.

I am not a playoffs or bust guy. I just want to see the team get better. I do not think I am seeing that.
