Is this Jon Martin FIASCO another example of a failure in Joe Philbin's coaching style?

Yes, Philbin doesn't know everything that is going on with the team, but this involved at least 20% of the staff!!

And he didn't know??!?!

Unacceptable!, and another example of how he doesn't have the intangibles it takes be be an effective head coach in the NFL in the LOCKER ROOM...and we already know how horrible and ineffective he is as a game day coach.

Can someone please tell me why we are keeping this guy in charge of our team? What are his shining qualities? I'm not seeing it!

Not a good way to spin this for Philbin...either his players didnt trust him to tell him, or he's totally unaware of what is happening in his locker room.

Philbin at fault over this since the report came out? We must be talking about a different joe philbin than the one that was heavily commended in the tedd wells report then... that is if any of our local experts on the report bothered to actually look at it

This is the 241st thread on this topic. That being said, I totally agree with you.

This is going to be a long offseason with threads topics like this for the next 6 months.

Let me know how a person is supposed to know something if they neither see it happen or are never told about it ever happening.

Does Professor X coach the Dolphins?

I will start a thread soon on the dangerous characteristics Martin shares in common with some of those who've gone postal, coupled with drug-addled perception, willingness to hurt himself and access to a weapon which created a toxic violent workplace environment with Martin's potential to explode iin a "Going Postal" manner. I do fault Ireland for not doing a better job of screening for someone not mentally damaged with a jelly-fish backbone, Philbin for enabling Turner and for not quickly demoting Martin, perhaps sidestepping this mental breakdown (or maybe Ireland again for not permitting him to demote Martin with cause, after the first several games) and Incog for taking it over the top. However, I also blame Martin's effete parents for coddling and enabling him instead of encouraging him to build a backbone, and of course Martin himself since as a man, and a huge one at that, when the smoke clears, he's responsible for either handling his own business or extricating himself from the situation without intentionally wreaking collateral damage.

Imagine your current work atmosphere. Imagine if bullying , harassment, and racist behavior was going on and your supervisor was oblivious to it.

Don't you think the supervisor would get reprimanded for not being aware of the reckless behavior of some of his staff ?

Philbin is suppose to be the eyes and the ears of the organization. He's the HEAD COACH.

If an employee is skimming thousands of dollars from a company and gets caught. Is his supervisor not responsible because he wasn't aware of it? His job is to make sure it doesn't happen in the first place!

Philbin didn't do his job as a head coach, plain and simple!

To me, it doesn't matter if he knew or not, Philbin needs to step up and take responsibility. That doesn't mean I think he should be fined or fired, but this is a perfect opportunity to be a leader and take command of the team. If there is anything to be learned from this, other than the Dolphins need to do a better job at evaluating draft prospects, it is Philbin needs to improve as a head coach and be involved more. Our politicians' pass the buck every chance they get and never take responsibility for anything. I can't really do anything about that, but I don't need that from the head coach of my NFL team. Ross has said, Philbin is our head coach this year, so I fully expect him to act like one by addressing this issue, taking responsibility, and outlining the direction of the team as we move forward and put this behind us. Here's looking to a new and improved head coach and team this year. Go DOLPHINS!!

Not if he didn't know.

Supervisors don't know everything that goes on, and I've been working since I was15 years old. I'm 46 now, and
I can state, without qualification, supervisors don't know everything that goes on during or with a shift.
