Coach Joe Philbin is back with the Dolphins today.. His father passed away last night.

Sad to hear about his loss. Hopefully the team will rally around Joe and help bring his spirits up.

Condolences to Joe Philbin whose father passed away last night

Per Jason Cole.

He has returned to the team. It sounds like this may have been the personal matter which kept him out of practice the past few days. Let's send support to the Philbin family and hope he can find some solace on the field on Sunday.

Joe Philbin is back with the Dolphins today, no doubt with a heavy heart.

The Dolphins coach who missed practice the past two days returned this morning after his father passed away last night. Paul E. Philbin was 93 years old.

The elder Mr. Philbin is survived by his wife Mary (coach's mom) among others.

Joe Philbin will coach the Dolphins on Sunday against the San Diego Chargers. I'm told that was his intent the whole time.

Condolences to the Philbin family.

Sorry to hear the news, guess all the speculating was wrong about what was actually going on.

So sorry to hear this. R.I.P. Mr Philbin Sr and condolences to Joe and the family.

Having lost my father as an adolescent under tragic circumstances, I can certainly appreciate and relate to the amount of pain and grief Joe is currently experiencing.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Philbin family at this tough time.

Really puts the sport of football in it's proper perspective when you suddenly realize there are things in life of a far greater importance.

I think I speak for all Dolphins fans when I say our hearts are heavy right now.

I too lost my father back in 05 and I actually got a lot of love here on this board. Like him as a HC or not, he's a human being going thru a very difficult time right now. The least we can do is keep him and his family in our prayers.

My condolences and prayers to him and his family.

Heartbreaking thing to deal with..I hope he got an opportunity to be with his father and say goodbye. For all of the BS we spout about Philbin the coach, I am pretty certain Philibin the average Joe is a good human being. I hope our football team gives coach Philibin a glimmer of hope tommorow, to soften the blow of what must have been an aweful week.

Thoughts and prayers to Joe and his family.

My prayers go out to Coach Philbin and his family. Poor family has been crushed the past few years.

Coaches and players have a "second family" and being back with his team will give Joe comfort.

Thoughts and prayers to Joe and his family. Stay strong Coach.

I am glad to see Mr. Philbin lived a long life and I hope that he had a quality of life in his last years on this earth. Prayers to the Philbin's and extended family.

Sad to hear. My deepest condolences.
