There seems to be a contingent that still supports Philbin. I'm interested to see what reasons you give.

What does Philbin do well? What has Philbin done to warrant keeping his job?

The only reasons I've been given is that he has not been cosh for long, so he deserves a fair shake. But that reason doesn't make sense since we have seen enough to see that he brings nothing to the table with this team. Constantly coming out flat and unprepared against inferior competition and making the same costly mistakes to lose games.

So how do you defend the decision to keep him around?

It is not that I want him to stay. He just doesn't have enough talent on the roster, but for once I want Ross to clean house, and please no false prophet, don't back up a brinks truck in someone's driveway, Gruden or Cowher, that's not the way to do it, have some perspective and hire a new and competent GM to go and get his coach, enough retreads.

Dude, all this distraction was not caused by Philbin. Its sad that he had to be dealt with this OL, which is the most embarrassing OL i have ever seen. I remember you guys screaming how in todays game, a OL is not important. Well now you see what you asked for.

I disagree, he absolutely has enough talent in the roster to beat the likes of buffalo with a practice squad QB and Tampa bay without Doug Martin and starting the beanpole mike Glennon at QB.

I have been a Joe supporter. But after the losses to the Bills and the Bucs, coming after the team having plenty of rest, I'm starting to change my mind. If this season goes like it looks like it is going to go I'm all for cleaning house. I still admire how after the loss Joe said that they had no excuses. He owned up to it.

I've supported Philbin up until the the Pats game where we stood around watching the clock tick down with 6 minutes left down by 10. That was is for me. Now I dont care if he stays or not. That was fundamental coaching. H e also cannot get these guys up to the Bills and Bucs. Or even stay focused on grind ing the Pats into the ground in the first half.

I'll say this in his defense. Sherman is not helping him at all, and the qb coach Taylor never should of been here to start with. Those hires are on Joe.

Agreed. I think we have to blow it up.

How many players he have that would be a starter in any playoff contender?
Wake, Grimes(on the Cheatriots he wouldn't be flagged so much), who else? Soliai with better help and Hartline as a #3 slot WR? Who else?

Did you see our rushing total and the pressure on the QB? The O-Line is void of talent and we have no legit TE.

This isn't about talent in comparison to the top teams in the league, this about talent in comparison to the dregs of the NFL like Tampa. We are undoubtedly more talented than Tampa,

And I think a lot of the poor performances can be put on coaching. These coaches don't put players in the best position to succeed.

The talent is above average. Sherman makes it extremely difficult to score
Also, they don't even play their better players. Danielle Thomas continues to play, so does Trusnik.
Wake doesn't play much, Dion Jordan never plays. They continue to run Nolan Carrol out there instead of giving one of the rookies a shot.

So, if you don't want the Dolphins team compared to the top of the league, why bother?

We've had 3 top 10 picks in Ireland's 6 years doing the shopping(that alone shows the level of talent on the team), and what do we have to show for it? A QB that we still don't how good he is because at the end of the games he is on his ass 2s after the snap, a guy we lost on freeagency and a backup DT on a defense that allows 100yds/game. Not to mention the highest pick at the time for a bone headed center.

Again, not enough talent...

He just stands there and just claps...

No emotion what so ever...

Doesn't seem to want to overrule his coordinators and cause confrontation...

GTFO.

I really had not made up my mind either way. Ross comes out and supports him last night, he should have just taken the wait and see approach IMO. I hear some of your questions about the talent but that still does not explain the lack of urgency at the end of games and the clock management. Also we know the Ol is a problem and have seen this script before at the end of games, but you just straight dropback your QB again instead of trying to move him etc. I have a hard time understanding the coaching in these situations.

Pouncey, Wallace(he'd be effective, not great, with a QB that could throw it deep), Ellerbe, Dion Jordan(most teams would have him starting somewhere like Von Miller), Starks, Odrick. Jesus, 2nd string rookie QB, 3rd string tailback and you give up how many points? Buffalo game was a joke.
