it doesn't hurt though. If you guys don't think a HC has any say in building a team you are sadly mistaken. I think Tony was in a little over his head in that aspect, but every coach helps build the team. You don't draft somebody the coach doesn't want or think will work in his system

Agreed 100%! This is our biggest problem...PR. While everything else going on may have two sides and ways to defend them one way or the other, it would be very difficult for anyone to defend a PR plan which involves making the team a national laughingstock and making our owner and GM look like fools not just to fans, but to sportswriters around the country. And it's a fact that these critical reviews, articles, and videos exist, running FAR more against our team and with very few (are there any?) supporters.
Assuming there is a "plan" that we all should "let play out," I think the PR people should come out and say that we are trying NFL Sabermetrics, like what the MLB A's did in Moneyball. That book and movie are really popular right now and I think people would suddenly get intrigued by what we are doing, then, and less critical. It might help get people to root for our band of underdogs, to accept cutting star players, and to get people intrigued by signings like Garrard. If nothing else, it would make people think that we are, in fact, operating to a well-devised plan and not just reacting to things around us. And it would get the sportswriters intrigued in trying to figure out how these moves support the system rather than just bashing us.
