Most losses ever by any professional franchise.

:baghead:

Drinks on me. :beer1:

:kick:

Most unoriginal name too?

They had the most losses ever by any team before the game even began; name a team that has 9,999 losses.

10,000 is just a round number that sounds good when being mentioned on Sportscenter, but in no way have the Phillies just NOW become the losingest franchise in professional sports. They've BEEN that.

They have the most losses in baseball history, but the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, San Diego Padres, Colorado Rockies, and I think one other team have a worse losing percentage. The Phils just have been around longer than all but about two teams. I think the Atlanta Braves are about 350 losses behind the Phils.

cheers to 10000 more before the year 2050! - Mets fan :)

To be fair, I think they chalked up the majority of their losses in Boston. They moved to Milwaukee in the 40s, then to Atlanta in the 60s.

I don't know for sure, but I would think the Reds have to be very high on that list; they were the first pro baseball team.

Sure is a great accomplishment. As a Marlins fan, I am rooting for the next 10 thousand losses for the Phillies, hope they can keep that record forever.

I would say Tampa Bay is on track to crush that record in a much shorter time span, but I wouldn't bet on it as I do not think they would be around in the next 15-20 seasons.
