NJ and you Mut's fans are worried.

Pitcher Adam Eaton and the Philadelphia Phillies finalized a $24.5 million, three-year contract on Thursday.
A first-round pick by the Phillies in 1996, Eaton is 54-45 with a 4.40 ERA in seven major league seasons. He has been on the disabled list six times in his career, but the Phillies are banking on the right-hander to fill out their rotation.
Eaton, who turned 29 on Thanksgiving, was 7-4 with a 5.12 ERA in 13 starts in his only season with Texas, making $4.65 million. He won 11 games in consecutive seasons with San Diego before he was traded to the Rangers last December.
Eaton solidifies a promising rotation that includes Brett Myers (12-7, 3.91 ERA), Cole Hamels (9-8, 4.08), Jon Lieber (9-11, 4.93) and Jamie Moyer (11-14, 4.30 with the Phillies and Seattle).

Adam Eaton, huh? Wow.

You mean the same guy that's posted a career 93 ERA+, (meaning he's 7 WORSE than a league average pitcher) who can't stay healthy, who posted an ERA above 5 last year and who is going to take up 8 million bucks on the Phillies' payroll for each of the next three seasons? That Adam Eaton?

This is a fine example of a good, young rotation...the good pitchers aren't young, and the young pitchers aren't good. (That's a cheap shot; I obviously like Cole Hamels a lot, as does everyone else.)

OMG Not Adam Eaton  you guys have a good 3rd or 4th starter now though

Id hope the Mets are way more concerned about Floridas pitching

Wait to you Phillies' haters see us sign Manny Ramirez!!!

I like Florida's pitching a lot. I'd swap the Mets' starting rotation for the Marlins' in a New York minute.

Hey, you know what, Joel Sherman just read this post and reported that as a legit rumor! :D

So true.

And Adam Eaton does not scare me at all. He's an extreme fly ball pitcher (.84 GB/FB), which means he's going to get eaten alive (pun not intended originally, but I'm sticking with it) in CBP.

Nothing like bringing in a fly ball pitcher to a park where pop up's end up in the 10 row.

I'll take having Anibal Sanchez as my fourth starter.

:yeahthat:

Heck Anibal would be a good #3 or even #2 starter and he is our 4th guy, that great
