We won't need Merling if we take Chris Long, but he might be worth a 2nd round pick if we pass on Little Howie. Wheeler would be a nice pickup if Zach moves on.

I totally agree with your assessment. But, I really don't see us passing on CL, there's just too much talent and value there.

Did anyone notice in the Senior Bowl that Ellis was playing the NT. But could we look to him at #1, and maybe grab a guy like Merling later?

I see Ellis as a distinct possibility if NFL execs believe he has a future as a NT in a 3-4.
