I know a lot of you are going to give me a lot of heat for saying this, but I still believe cutting Phillip Livas was our biggest player personell mistake last year. We finally had a desperately needed explosive and dangerous return man, and then we cut him because we thought we could make better use of the roster space (which turned out not to be the case). Gates struggled all year to barely get past the 15 yard line, and had maybe one good return in 16 games (while Livas had more big returns in his first game than Gates had all year). Marlin Moore and Roberto Wallace ended up doing nothing even before they got hurt and ended up on the IR, then we ended up short of receivers, and still had no return game. I believe we would have won a few more games with Livas, as a lot of the games were close, and the extra yardage on the returns could have made the difference. Now he is on the Baltimore Ravens practice squad, and I really hope Ireland can swallow his pride and sign him like he should have done in the first place before he becomes a great player for some other team.
