I know a lot of you are going to give me a lot of heat for saying this, but I still believe cutting Phillip Livas was our biggest player personell mistake last year. We finally had a desperately needed explosive and dangerous return man, and then we cut him because we thought we could make better use of the roster space (which turned out not to be the case). Gates struggled all year to barely get past the 15 yard line, and had maybe one good return in 16 games (while Livas had more big returns in his first game than Gates had all year). Marlin Moore and Roberto Wallace ended up doing nothing even before they got hurt and ended up on the IR, then we ended up short of receivers, and still had no return game. I believe we would have won a few more games with Livas, as a lot of the games were close, and the extra yardage on the returns could have made the difference. Now he is on the Baltimore Ravens practice squad, and I really hope Ireland can swallow his pride and sign him like he should have done in the first place before he becomes a great player for some other team.

hmmm, just signed some canadian didnt we? besides, gates started coming along. livas smally. i liked him though. smally.

A few more wins would not have put us in the playoffs. Sparano made the roster choices and he's gone. Lets hope the next guy has a better eye for talent and how to use it.

I liked livas alot. I hope he does well...I think we could have used him at wr rb and kr

Fans favorite player on the team - backup quarterback

Second Favorite....... practice squad kick returner?

livas as a punt returner on the dolphins would have been lethal for us. With the performance the kid had in the preseason i still cant believe he didnt make it. Doesnt surprise me though, ireland and sparano the 2 boneheads make all the wrong decisions always.

Gates and Bess are fine, and possibly get much better. Livas who???

livas was so quick he tripped over his own feet.

While I wasn't impressed with Livas's overall preseason, and fine with Bess at PR, Clyde Gates is one of the worst returners in the league. He needs to improve dramatically in that department.

And that's why stats don't paint a full one. He was top ten this year

I'm sure he was top 10 in yards since he returned it so much as opposed to taking a knee, but I doubt his average is very good.
