i think saban should take a hard look at him to be future qb...he has it all arm strength ,quick relasese and can read a defense...i think if we finish at least at 500 we shud give up 1st round pick for him because i think he would be a far better choice than anyone coming out this year and help us faster

i wouldnt mind getting rivers...i wonder though what we would have to give up to get him

i agree, we will not be in the top 10 picks that for sure, hopefully we arent even in the top 15 spots, so trading a mid 1st round pick for him would be a pretty good deal. i like him and has two years on him compared to if we drafted a guy, with our O our recievers are in their prime and the D is aging, so we not have much time

yea but what scares me is that whole BUST situation like feeley.

im not qualified to say if he will be a good QB or not, so i wont be rooting for rivers or any QB untill they wear a fins jersey

but i trust saban to bring in a good qb and meuller has an eye for qbs. if they pick rivers, then im all for it

if anyone can dig up randy meullers thoughts on Rivers from 2 years ago, that may give us a clue

Can't dig up Muellers thoughts on Rivers but I can tell you he thought Feeley was a great pick-up and had him rated high coming out.

Would we need to pony up any draft picks? Doesn't his contract end soon?

Why would you want Drew when you could have Jamal Fletcher?

Wouldn't it be better to get Brees as a UFA instead of trading picks away for a Rivers?

If we get Brees, we could use our first round pick on a OT or a impact defensive player (dont really care if its a CB, LB, or DL as long as its a elite player)

if we got rivers he would still be under his rookie contract which is less money then we have to pay a guy if we drafted him in the first round .. brees is going to want alot of money ...im not saying rivers will be marino but he has the looks of elite prospect and could be worth the gamble although the secpndary could use a round 1 pick

We have quality OT's who are playing great at the moment in the passing game. What we need is a big run blocking guard on the right side so we can run to that side with Carey and a big run blocking guard.

I dont think we have a franchise LT. And I wouldnt spend a high draft pick on a OG or OC. As far as first round picks go, I would take a LT if one is there. You can find OGs in the later rounds.

In the BIG picture, in order to make it to the superbowl down the road, our LT will have to face match ups against GREAT DEs (yeah, you can point to the carolina game, but, its not the same because its not a playoff game and we had the heat working for us.)

I see a Freeney tearing up pro bowl LTs, and he is one of the DEs we will have to go against down the road to make it to the big game. I just dont see our current LT holding up against a guy like that in the playoffs. That will present a problem down the road.
