Phillips traded to the Eagles

Phillips had a great debut with the Eagles, which is tough for those of us living in Eagles country.

Now Jaelan Phillips will stay healthy the remainder of his career and be a consistent pro bowler. It’s the Dolphins way. I don’t blame them for taking a 3rd though. We resign him and he would be next in a long line of players who ****ed the Dolphins over by staying healthy in a contract year just to regress to the norm right after they sign long term

And now we see why fans were upset that the Eagles didn't give up the Jets 3rd rounder for him

It's why I wasn't a fan of the trade but I get why they did it. They are essentially banking on him getting injured again. They are either going to look like geniuses or idiots with the trade, I don't think there is an in-between. He stays healthy, he will ball out and people are thinking "you gave him up for a late 3rd? Idiots". He gets injured and it's "great job getting a 3rd for that injury prone guy".

Dude made some important plays last night. I watched the game with a buddy thats a huge Eagles fan, and I told him that Phillips will be a Pro Bowler for the Eagles. They're going to love that they only had to give up a 3rd for him. Fangio know exactly how to use him....and it's not covering on pass plans.

He made a key stop on 4th and 1 toward the end of the game and almost cost me my prop bet on Love 😁 Thankfully the Eagles poor play calling got the ball back to Love with some time to get the extra yards needed. But yes, Phillips will fit in well there, where he doesnt need to be "the star"!

I really liked Phillips but he’s making comments that seem like a slight at the Fins. He said he got emotional for the first time in a long time before his first game with Philly, and they have confidence and play as a team. Coupled with him saying the trade being pretty much the best thing that has happened to him to me sounds like he wanted to stay with the Fins but they traded him anyways.
