In the past TEN FREAKIN YEARS, Welker returned a kick off for a TD in 04, and Ogden returned a punt in 00. That's it.

Is that about to change?

With Ginn, I hope so. But we have kept Keith Armstrong for so long. What has he done exactly?

Will Ginn be doing both kick and punt returns, or will he be doing kicks and Hakim will do punts?

If you measure special teams' effectiveness solely by TDs, then, you're correct. That is an ignorant way to look at it though. A far more useful way to look at it is where our net punt and return, rank. I have a feeling you're going to find we have generally ranked in at least the top 10 over the last several years.

You think thats bad? I dont think the Bucs have returned a kickoff in their history of the team...

If Hakim does anything he will be doing kick returns and a few catches a game or so.

Isn't Lorenzo Booker going to return punts?

And I had thought that the Dolphins had never had a punt return for a TD, I could be wrong on that fact.

And Mare wasn't very good last year, and Feeley doesn't have a real strong leg. And no one has reported much on how well Jamie Fields had been punting.

As long as we win and at least make the playoffs, I don't care if Ginn hands out cups of Gatorade to Cameron.

"If" Ginn can change the field for us on kick offs, moving the starting field position to the 40 consistently, then he will have made us a much better team, but he should play at WR, we need some new blood over there.

Special teams is something that is ALWAYS over looked by football fans. It's such an important aspect to a team as is usually will make or break you on any given Sunday. The problem with us hasn't only been return men, but coverage teams as well. That was Olindo Mare's biggest value was the fact that he could rear back and boom it into the end zone on many occasions. Yeremiah Bell has been a good special teams guy for us, but as he becomes a household safety, we need others to step up. I have high hopes for Cameron Worrell to be a good special teamer for us.

Ginn goes without mention. He will bring some long over due speed and electricity to our special teams. It's almost a certainty he'll have a return TD this year.

our special teams coach has survived every coaching change it seems like

He is the only constant

Wannstedt brought Keith Armstrong here in 2001 to replace Mike Westhoff, who had been here for 15 years, and our special teams have been anything but special ever since. 2001 was also the year they let Larry Izzo go.
