Phins need Titans to win

Another playoff thread here, if we gave cincy one playoff spot, and they beat denver and pittsburg to knock them out, we need the titans to run the table and a miracle will happen in south florida because jax does not get out of the division to use their tie breaker against us
 
anyone know if we have a tiebreaker with the Jets?
 
currently we do not have the tiebreaker with the jets, however due to their loss to buffalo, if miami wins out we will own the tie breaker over them.

alright but what if we end up in a big tie with Jax, KC, Den, and NYJ. head to head doesn't work with any team because no one team would have swept the all of the other teams. I do know that Denver would be eliminated by KC due to divisonal record so that leaves the Jets, Jags, Chiefs and Dolphins all at 9-7

KC would knock out Denver, we beat KC. We would beat the Jets if we won out. If the Titans win out like us, they knock out the Jags, and we beat them. The wildcards would then by Cincy and Miami. A whole lot of stuff has to happen though.
 
Bottom line the Jags have to finish 8-8 or Miami has no chance.

Bottem line is we have to win out before we start worrying about other teams, the bills, jets, and colts arent going to be easy games.
 
I've done a little looking and if KC loses the one game we need them to for the tie to happen than they are eliminated because they would have a 5-7 conference record but before they are eliminated they eliminate Denver due to a better divisonal record. this is where it's confusing, that leaves Jax, Mia, and NYJ all with the same 6-6 conference record. I'm lost after that

Come on man. That's a given. Everything that's being bounced around here is under the assumption that Miami wins out. We all know this.

I'm not sure that's true, I think Tennessee would get them in a tiebreaker if they were both 9-7.

you have to look at conference record, no one team has swept every other team so head to head is not applicable. you have to go on to conference record which only eliminates KC but not before they eliminate Denver. so in your sceniro Tenn, Jax, NYJ and Mia and all tied at 9-7 and all would have a 6-6 conference record, the next step is best record in common games and there must be at least 4 common games.
 
common games NYJ, KC, NE, BUF, TENN, IND, HOU

Jax is 5-7 in those games
Mia is 6-5 in those games
Tenn is 6-5 in those games
Jets are 6-5 in those games

so Jax is eliminated than your go to strengh of victory which is likely to change but right now Tenn has it so they would be in so actually we don't want them to win out. just to beat Jax the next game

No at 9-7 Tennessee does not get in over us. Period. We beat them. It's good if Tenn and Jax both finish 9-7.

I'm not sure but i think after the senario you put up wouldn't come down to head to head first? And if so then we beat Tenn and we would be one up on them? I really don't know.
