To all of the people who are reaslistic know that before the season ever began we were no better than a 8 - 8 team this year. Brown is a rookie which is what most of u seem to forget, Ferotte is a brand new QB for us, this is Saban's SECOND NFL game, and don't forget we have one of the worst O-Lines. People need to chill and wait till atleast week 7 before trashing on the team.

Oh and heres a stat most have forgotten:

Dolphins are 1-9 vs the Jets in the last 5 years

I got a feeling that it will take more time than expected for us to become contenders again.:shakeno:

Really? Most people expected a three year turnaround. I would say that we are off to a good start.

I agree with you but also consider:

"before the season ever began we were no better than a 8 - 8 team this year."

8-8 will be tough if we cant beat a struggling Jets team when you consider our schedule. Panthers and Chiefs next.

"Brown is a rookie which is what most of u seem to forget"

Brown is a rookie, but it seems the problem is that people look over at Cadillac and see nearly three hundred yards in two games, realize he was picked after we picked Ronnie, and BAM, frustration.

"Ferotte is a brand new QB for us"

Frerotte is indeed a brand new QB for us but in a system he's played in for years and is a very short-term solution at 34yrs old. Plus, we now lose a year of development time for our future unknown QB.

"this is Saban's SECOND NFL game"

This is Sabans second NFL game as a head coach, but has been a DC in the NFL before.

"and don't forget we have one of the worst O-Lines"

And finally, we all know we have a bad O-line, but then why do we still have the same one from last year? And how effective will Houck truly be?

But like I said, for the most part I agree with you, but everything certainly has a counterpoint. Its way to early to judge, sure. But its never too early to at least be concerned.

You are a reasonable fan ...A lot of fans on this board actually believes we are going to the super bowl....this year

after i read some of the things posted on this site, i can connect the dots and realize why we struggle to sell out games, and are not known for having the best fans in the league....im not into getting banned so i wont elaborate any further though

bottom line is the ship is headed in the right direction. Our front seven on defense is very good. Our secondary will be up and down, hopefully more up as the season goes on and people get used to the scheme. Our offensive line actually is improved from last year but not enough to get excited about. Our receivers are getting open but are suffering from the drops. Gus will have to be benched either for sage or aj if he continues his historic one good game one bad. as for brown I think he showed promise but is still raw. overall, I'm happy but reality has set in. we won't compete with the elite teams but we can mess with everyone else

I guess the question is whether the glass is half emty or half full. Personaly I am very happy about my fins. Are we a superbowl team? No. Do we have a coach that can get us there? Yes imo. We repaced over half our roster and we are playing some young guys. It will take time but we will become a better team the longer we play. I think the reason some fans are yelling the sky is falling is that they never had realistic expectations in the first place. I am not knocking optimism but you have to have some grip on reality. Cant wait till next week!

I see possibly getting to 8-8 this year, making the playoffs next year and then........

I've said it all along..after going to some practices. There are a lot of new schemes that take time to get going, the problem i see today is that our secondary really got exposed, and i see other teams trying to do them same thing to us.

It will just take time. As fans we are blinded by one game. After the Broncos game people were hyping us up to be Champs and after one loss it seems like the seasons is over. Look at our division , everyone is 1 -1 no one is out of reach. I'm not saying that we will make the playoffs or even wild card. I'm just saying it is still an option. Ricky will be back mid season. Hopefully by then the O-line will be better. Until we have that awsome duo in the back field our run game will be sub par strickly b/c the defense cheats and kicks browns *** cuz they know we cant throw (which has been the problem since Dan left). Realistically we'll go third in our division at best.
