After watching the review of the play, (in slow motion no less) I found all the usual suspects involved.

Feeley the Qb dropped back, Donald lee was running an out pattern (maybe the wrong name for what he ran but bear with me) and miami's line had good pass protection until Seth Mckinney lost his block. AS Mckinney's opponent got past him AJ was about to throw that ball, and he was hit at the same time he threw the ball, Of course for him not to see a guy coming at him like that probably meant he was locking onto Lee...

Anyway as the ball was in the air, it appeared that Lee, that great TE he is and future hall of famer (Sarcasim anyone?) wasn't even looking for the ball, In fact he really didn't turn to recieve it until after the interception occured.

I know that we all look at the stats and go "oh noez!!! ******* AJ and a pick6" but this interception was nothing but a comedy of errors. The blame could easily be spread out over 3 players...

exactly what I thought, when I watched the highlights.

But I didnt mention it in one the threads because I thought that the majority wouldnt care anyway.

No this is all Feeley's fault. DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE!

When I first saw it I notice Lee not looking at all... But, the blame was mostly Feeley's.. No disputing that imo.

Dare I mention all the other incompletions he had. I like feeley, and am sure he would progress. But I would rather have had Jay Feebler, for all that we knock the guy, he helped us win a lot of games these two schmucks could never have won.

I say stick to one guy, Frerotte, I think that he will at least provide a level of on-field intelligence that Feeley just doesn't have.

I've never seen a dillema where all 3 quarterbacks on the roster have not been starter quality for this long. It seems like decades since Marino retired.

i didnt get a chance to see the game but from your description and others that pass wasnt really that troubling to me. what did trouble me was the description that feeley was just off target all day until the last drive of the second half. can you tell me how many passes he threw that couldve been made but werent. were the receivers getting open, was our oline giving him protection? would appreciate it.

p.s. the next day or two you have to let everyone get out their frustrations. same happened last week after gus stunk up the joint. everyone's looking for a scapegoat and they dont want to hear that the oline and receiver have anything to do with the play lol

Just going off my view from the stadium. It seems like the WR's have been dropping several balls. It has happened to both AJ and GUS. When it comes to choosing a QB it's like the lesser of two evils. (maybe three evils) I think Saban is to blame a little for this though. He had the oppurtunity to get other QB's either thru FA or the draft and decide on these 3. Even though AJ was already signed, he did sign Gus and resigned Sage. I'm not sure what other FA options there were, but we could have definately drafted someone.

I actually thought that the pocket held up long enough for a completion... Feeley threw early and behind the receiver..... this is a typical feeley interception.

I did see the game so I'll help ya out on that one. AJ threw 3 more passes (low) that possibly could of been caught which would of brought his total to 7 for 10 att's and who knows. No, the Oline was pathetic and coverage was tight on receivers. Main prob for both Gus and Feeley-No Time. The int by Feeley could be blamed on O-line-Receiver(never turned around) and QB (being rushed). Feeley did move the ball and put up 3- Gus went backwards, 2 for 3 for 10 yards- Sage looked the best but inconsequential b/c 3rd string plus game decided. I say stick with the Kid (AJ) b/c for someone who knows the "system" (Gus)- He sure must suck then.

thx for the write up. stats reveal so little. this oline of ours is starting to worry me big time. it just seems to me that the preseason is over and as a team we're still not ready for primetime. hopefully we improve as the season goes along but it seems we are heading for a rough start

Feeley gets 90% of the blame. He was off all night. He looked frantic and was nto making good reads and decisive throws. As if he was completely confused by the coverage and did not have the confidence to test it. When he did he paid.

I am a Feely supporter. But last night was a chance for him to lay claim to the #1 spot and he blew it. Just as Gus blew it the week before. we have wo guys capable of having a good game. But neither will be consistent and will ever have a big game.

We are what we are.

PS
I have had enough of the Sage stuff already. The guy has been third string for three years for a reason. He is looking very solid against very medicore competition. I remember his chance to star last year. Not pretty. In fact he had one returned for six.
It's a lot harder making thos plays when top competition is doing the coverage and the blitzing. Face it we have nobody.

Oh no we suck again!!!!

the only qb i was interested in was Frye and we couldve got him instead of roth. i think the huge mistake saban made was not addressing the oline. we shouldve had at least two more olinemen either through free agency or the draft. i'm not going to be too upset since we had so many positions we needed to address but he has to address the offense next year

yeah the sage talk is just people reaching for straws but let em have it. the other two qbs havent done anything. the inconsistency of gus and aj is just frustrating. i'd go with aj for several reasons but quite frankly after this preseason i'm not sure it's going to make much of a difference to our wonloss record. until our oline is more consistent we are going to have alot of trouble

even bates on his way out said the defense had more problems than the Offense. Saban retooled the defense this year, and next year it should only need some tweaking. As for the Oline, several guys were brought in, and they just didn't work out. don't forget Mcdoogle and Middleton... Saban tried to do everything he could to retool the D and O this year and for the future, and maybe he just didn't feel Frye was going to be a superstar, and it would be unreasonable to think that frye would've helped the team as a QB this year.

my understanding with frye is he had a horrible workout for saban. as to the fact he tried to retool the line he did but i'm not sure he succeeded. i'm not really as upset as most people seem to be today. i went into this season prepared for a long season. all i wanted was improvement. i feel we will improve but it probably wont be that dramatic in the won/loss column. pieces are being put into place and i'm happy about that. gus, aj,sage are all horrible when protection breaks down so unless our oline improves and starts giving our qbs time and our rbs holes its going to be a long season
