Okay so we are not officially "On the Clock". Nobody is taking that position from the Raiders. The Raiders will have the first pick in the 2007 draft. All that said I'm really just interested in a couple of players. We may end up picking in the top ten again.....

Anyone seen these guys play? I don't keep up with much College football. I get my fill of pro style offenses and defenses on Sunday.

Leon Hall - CB - Michigan
Marcus McCaulley - CB - Fresno State
Fred Bennett - CB - South Carolina

Joe Thomas - OT - Wisconsin
Levi Brown - OT - Penn State
Justin Blalock - OT - Texas

we need cb's too, eddie jackson did nothing to help us yesterday

Joe Thomas is very good. I watched them play vs. Minnesota, he was dominant, taking out blitzers with one arm, granted it's not an NFL LB but was still pretty impressive.

Joe Thomas is our guy if we draft in the top five.

Has he been rated top five by the pundits?

joe thomas is rated as high as #2 by the experts and as low as #5.

none of the CB's mentioned in this thread are even top 10 worthy IMO.

as for blalock and brown ....meh. give me thomas or gaither.

if miami picks in the top 5 .. as i have stated in past threads... miami should take joe thomas ... if miami picks in the top 2-3 picks calvin johnson should be picked... with the injury to peterson... it looks as if his draft stock will drop... moving another player into the top 5 ...even if hagan continues to improve i still say WR should be taken... chambers is better suited for a #2 role than a #1 .. and addressing the o-line can be in round 2 .... i'm no expert ... but players like johnson are a once in a decade type... i don't think it be wise to pass that up... guys like joe thomas or perhaps levi brown can be found in round 2 .... i just think with the inconsistant play of the current WR's on the roster... it be wise of the team to consider drafting another WR like calvin johnson or perhaps jarret from USC if either declare!!!

it think that our team is in such bad shape that we should pick best player avalible i dont see any more than 2 or 3 players on this team that i would be crushed to let go our team is made up of a bunch of solid 2nd stringers

I say you have to take a playmaker in the first round. No more taking bull crap OL (Vernon Carey) or supposed Defensive studs (Jason Allen). We need someone that will contribute on day one. If its going to take you three to four years to contribute then you shouldn't be taken in round one. (Thats just my opinion, but I am also frusrated by the lack of contributions from our younger players right now.)
BTW, Posluzny is good, but Dan Conner (also plays at PSU) is just as good of a LB and is most likely a second or third round pick. Unless his stock rises, wich it most likely will.
