Does anybody have pics when Gus rammed his head into the endzone? A friend of mine wants to see it and I don't know where to find them.
 
no, but if you type 'gus frerotte' into a google picture search all the pics are of him fumbling and getting sacked in a number of different unis.
 
None of him lighting it up in Minny? HMMMMMM! Sounds like that media bias towards wanting a black quaterback to succeed that Rush Limbaugh talked about, and eventually lost his gig for. I happen to believe that if Gus were in Miami, Buffalo,New York,Houston,Cincy,Clevland, San Diego, heck even GreenBay or St. Louis(just to name a few) that the talking heads would have been in love w/ what this guy was doing! Making comments on how he was the next Rich Gannon. Instead it was behind a $100+ million Culpepper so no hype!!!! I know that Pep was a huge salary and you do not sit a $100 mill player, but if he is being out-played, the right thing to do is to play the best player.


At that point in time Gus was throwing better and not turning the ball over like the pepster. I would love to see pics of him hitting Moss in stride, time and time again. Moss has openly admitted Gus throws a better deep ball. I spoke w/ a friend about the bashing of Gus(he is a huge vike fan) and the first words he said were"He throws a better deep ball than Culppepper" and then "Moss said he was better than Culpepper" Lets' see those pics!!!!

I'm just gonna ignore the Rush comments and shake my head :shakeno: towards you actually believing that Gus is a better QB than Culpepper.

Oh boy, where to start...Ah hell it is early, I will go easy on you.

First of all, Gus never "lost" his starting job in Minny. He never held it. Culpepper has been the starter. He was injured and his backup ( Gus ) came in and filled in nicel for him. Once Culpepper got healthy, he took over his position again as he should and Gus went back to the becnh, as he should.

Secondarily, Rush made those comments towards Donovan McNabb, not Culpepper, in which they have absoultely no truth whatsoever, in either case.

Third, no one is ever going to compare Gus to Rich Gannon. Gus has a stronger arm and can throw downfield. Rich is more mobile and likes to dink and dunk his way down the field. You show your blatant racism by comparing two 30 something year old WHITE QB's that have nothing in common except their skin tone. I hope you were kidding in this post, because if not, it is one of the most ignorant posts I have seen in a while in regards to football and life.

P.S. Gus was in Cincy and wasn't beloved like you say, in fact, he struggled to hold a roster spot.
 
You guys did not understand his comments or interpreted it wrongly...He never said that Gus was better than Dante but he said that there are no highlights of Gus throwing TD in Minny or anywhere he has been....
From what I understood from his post, they only showed negative pics of Gus meaning getting sacked, throwing interceptions, while they only showed positive pics of Daunte even though both QB's had their share of mistales.
I don't think he meant that Gus was betetr than Daunte Culp..

Media bias? What did you want the media to say about a 4-12 team and a career back-up qb?

The fins were the media darling in 02 and 03. Almost everyone picked the fins to go to the sb. Your team let them down by not even making playoffs and you want them to still be the miedia darling? Not everyone in media is a finfan like you.

Your new HC is also anti-media. Go blame him.

Yeah, sorta like your team let the media down four years in a row, after all weren't the Jills the "media darlings" of the early 90's??

I'm not the one whining about how my team doesn't get respect. Nice attempt trying to turn my post into smack. When the bills don't get media coverage, it's because we don't deserve it. :tongue:

Get your facts together. Whitey cant throw? If anything the media is harder on black QB's. Remember when everyone said Vick was too stupid to learn the West Coast Offense???
 
Gus knocked himself out and lost his job because of it. He is a journeyman. He has bounced from team to team. That is why he gets no or negative media hype.
