Pittsburgh to the Big 10 (11)

University of Pittsburgh athletics are moving to the Big 10 conference, according to sources close to the school.

Now I think this is a great move for the Big 10. Brings a quality football and basketball team to the conference, and gives Penn State it's natural rivalry back.

Now who fills the void in the Big East is the question. Personally, I think it'll be Memphis. Their football sucks, but their basketball is up there with the rest of them (or was until recently).

Well, there's been rumors the past few years that a team would be plucked from c-usa, but it's not going to be Memphis. Not to be a homer but the 2 front runners would be UCF or ECU. But I have also begun to hear Houston's name being thrown around especially after the season they just had in football, plus their bball team is very pretty decent.

I am very excited to hear this though because I wanted UCF to get out of this dam conference ever since they've been in it. USF will have no choice but to play UCF if they get invited.

don't write off Memphis just yet. Their AD has been pushing to join a bigger conference more than any other school.

As for the Pitt move, it allows the Big 10 to have a championship game, gives another match up people want to see (Pitt vs. PSU). But can Pitt compete consistently on the field with B10 in football? They'll dominate Basketball.

I mean its only fair, if the SEC, ACC, Big 12 have a championship game, so should the Big 10. Probably the best possible team to go there. I like the move.

Now they just need to work on the Big East and the Pac 10.

This is just a rumor. And I'm still laughin at whoever said Pitt would dominate the Big Ten in basketball. They got dominated by Indiana in the Garden this year. Don't get me wrong, they'd be in the mix most years but they wouldn't "dominate".
