Plax agrees to 2 year prison term

He'll probably get 2 more years added on to that after he accidently stabs himself in the leg with the shiv he was concealing in his pants.
 
What an idiot. I can't believe Donte Stallworth gets off scott free and Plax is going to jail. Plax must have terrible lawyers.

True,and undoubtedly what he did was absolutely stupid.BUT,HE SHOT HIMSELF on accident.So now taxpayers have to pay for his stupid mistake AND hes a millionaire who lost his job,went through the humiliation,etc.I know New York has harsh gun laws,but his lawyers and the justice system should be ashamed.

Shooting himself has NOTHING to do with it. He's rich enough to REGISTER for the gun. He also makes enough to have someone else carry the gun (not a teammate) if he needs protection that badly. He also coulld have worn some sweats with POCKETS, so the moron wouldnt let the gun fall out so easily. The NY justice system is right not to let him go like other states may have. The law carried a MANDATORY sentence, enough said, end of story. If he accidently shot someone else, how many laughing smileys would you have? Its a black thing...thats funny...hes in NY, not Mississippi.

Sorry, this isn't a race thing. Its a blantant stupidity mixed with, I'm a SB WR. That doesn't fly in NY. He is the one that should be ashamed, and he is paying a big price going from a top notch WR, to the biggest ******* in prison. Pathetic. Taxpayers will pay it, believe me, because now...maybe a lot of other morons packing will think about registering, or better yet, not carrying.

I never really implied his sentence was a race thing.When I said it was a "black thing",I meant it like "how many white players do you see walking around with guns shooting themselves in clubs".I'm also not entirely gullible to believe race has absolutely NOTHING to do with it either.Just because its in NY doesn't mean there isn't any racial bias there.Give me a break.And what happened?He SHOT HIMSELF right?He didn't actually harm anyone else,so your point of what COULD have happened is basically moot.

Hey,I agree his head got swoll after the Super Bowl,it was stupid.He payed the price...

Now I'm hearing that If he had taken a plea earlier he could have gotten 3 months in prison and 1500 hours community service. But this jackass wanted to go before the grand jury to convince them he shouldn't go to jail at ALL. And now look where it got him.So me defending him here almost seems silly too.

He could have easily gone to trial, but then he would have risked 3.5 years or more. (If he thought it was a race thing his lawyers could have played it in court, got a plea later. No Im not that naive that I believe everyones handing in their guns because of this. But I gaurantee registration for guns went up.

There was no way they would have ever offered a plea that low. The mayor was on his *** right after it happened, because it was a law he made I believe. He wanted more right when he heard.

Well his career is basically over now..He probably would have only played 2-3 more years anyways..Plaxico has a history of doing some pretty stupid stuff, you would think he would learn by now.

Maybe 2 years in the joint might just be the answer.

Well he is black yes, and he did shoot himself with a gun he didn't register yes, and he did accept a deal of 2 years despite being black and having a gun he didn't register which he shot himself with yes....

You make it sound like he's the victim

EDIT: Now there might be some bias? It isn't society's fault Vick, Stallworth and Burress get into trouble despite being black.
