I'd like to see how steadfast the Bengals are on not dealing Carson Palmer. I would make them an offer, a 3rd rounder perhaps, which they will refuse as per their stance of not entertaining offers. Then you leak the story to the media. The Bengals fanbase will erupt. If they thought they could get ANYTHING for Palmer, they'd probably take it. The Bengals fans would much rather have a 3rd rounder than a retired Carson Palmer. Maybe their discontent can put enough pressure on the Cincy FO to make the deal.

I'm not saying that Palmer is a savior, but I like him a lot better than Orton....

The difference is, the Broncos will still get something out of Orton. Cincy is getting NOTHING from Palmer, dude said he doesn't want to play for them and would rather retire. With Denver, they are trading their possible starting QB, so it's natural that they wouldn't blink.

LOL the Skins offered 2 first round picks for #85 and Brown told them to take a walk. I'm sure he cares about a 3rd round offer for Palmer.

2) Not every fan base goes ape**** over a 3rd round pick quite the way people do here on FH. If you made the offer legit, and say offered a 1st rounder or a 2nd and a 3rd or something like that, then that might get some attention.

But, yea, we do need to make a SERIOUS run at Palmer and quit dicking around. Dont call up Mike Brown just to tickle balls.

If we give up a 1st for just an average qb on the downside of his career, I'd be pissed.

Mike Brown has never been forced or enticed into making a trade he did not want to do. You are playing chicken with yourself. Besides, Palmer is not worth even close to the money left on his contract.

with palmer we'd have a shot at contending imo...not gonna say it would be a lock cause you just never know what your gonna get with him these days but he's got the upside to get us over the hump...

ideally i'd like to part with like a 3rd and a 5th for him...but i think like others have said mike brown will tell you to pound sand...you probably have to part with a 2nd at least...at least

I think to get Palmer, and you aren't giving up a first, you are looking at a 2nd and Randy Starks. I don't know where his heart is though, that is the only thing, but I'm at the point where I'm like the hell with it . . . we can't afford to lose a year of this defense and Palmer is a better option than Orton, much better option.

i'd give cinci a 3rd and starks in a heartbeat...for palmer...but they have young good looking interior dline players already
