'Playbook' QB or not QB?

yeah i was watching it and tannehill clearly is to blame for a lot of the pressure given up by the line. hes gotten a free pass for a long time because of the oline but its very obvious he holds on to the ball way too long and still has no clue when to run with the ball. very depressing.

How is any of this depressing?

I've watched that Wallace play 15 times (sucker for punishment) and there is just no excuse for it. The pocket was clean at the time he should have unloaded it but he shifts to his left for some stupid reason and now by the time he throws the pocket is collapsed in his face.

I'm sure you can find similar poor plays by all QBs in a vacuum but to see it broken down by a guy that used to play in this type of offense is still maddening to me.

Bingo.

I'm pretty sure Sharpe & Co. was also given more than 3 weeks in the opening month of his new offense before being scrutinized as well. But hell, he's got a TV show to yap about, so have at it.

That sack Tanny takes against KC with the first play Sharpe dissects is exactly why some of us howl about his lack of pocket awareness, not to mention his ability to take what the defense is giving.

Can't watch it. What does he say Tannehill should have done on that play?

He shows how Sims/Thomas are both open in the flat with room to run. Instead, Tanny's eyes are fixated down field on Wallace in congested coverage. Tannehill freezes up once he realizes he can't throw to Wallace and takes a bad sack after what was a clean pocket.

It's bs that on that 3rd and one vs kc tanny didn't get to those 2 players open in the flat in the progression...talk about shelling up in the moment...can't happen...wake up son...I know sims and the back are down it but down and distance say you must speed up and get to your later progressions...

Isn't it also recognizing the coverage to anticipate where defenders will be along with being quicker on progressions?

Exactly, new Offense for a young QB that since college, has only known one type of offense, but let's throw him to the wolves right now.

Thats a BS excuse. One Offense or Fifty Offense's. He has Thomas open in the flats. He does this all the time. He refuses to check down and always wait for plays to progress.
