Like everyone, I'm interested to see how the coaching changes affect play on the field. Aside from the obvious intensity Campbell is trying to inject, and any lineup changes that may or may not happen, I'm most curious to see how our defensive playcalling changes (or doesn't) with Lou and how offensive playcalling changes (or doesn't) with Lazor no longer influenced by Philbin.

So what say you? What will we see on Sunday?

Examples of different playcalling: more running plays, more deep passes, no 10 yard DB cushions, more stunts/twists, etc.
Examples of different results: higher 3rd down conversion rate, getting sacks, forcing turnovers, breaking tackles, winning

Anything other than "Option D" is unacceptable, and those in charge should be beaten about the head and neck with a sack full of padlocks.

I chose C. Dan will probably want to emphasize toughness and see how the team does on some power run plays, but it will take more than one game to whip the O-line into shape. If we see improvement but still lose, I can accept that.

I think they will try to run more, so it will be "different"; however, the OL is still the same sucky OL and you are going to get the "same results"...

I expect them to pound the heck out of the ball. Nothing makes a line tougher than running the ball. On the D, I expect an attacking D, not a read and react one.

at the end of the day, Lazor is still calling the plays. I think it will be very similar playcalling, but hoping for different results.

I think Campbell will force us to run more, but we'll still be terrible on obvious passing downs. And we'll still have a lot of obvious passing downs.

Run the DAMN ball and for crying out loud. Please run it out of other formations beside that shot-gun crap! RB lined up right so 99% time he's going up middle or left or vice versa...

I feel Parker gets unleashed. Something about his practice comments leads me to believe that this is the week.

I heard that Billy T took first team reps.

Then coach Man Campbell will kick his arse

D baby...easy!
Establishing (I sure hope) the run before attacking the Titans in the air. Go Dolphins!!!

There's nothing wrong with power based rushes that gain very little early in the game. I can't count how many times I've isolated those teams to bet on down the road, if they stick with it. Invariably the team becomes more sturdy on both sides of the ball.

On the other hand, dunce coaches love this pattern: Forced pass on first down. Incomplete. Now you think you have to run the ball to pretend you actually care about it. But you don't really have any belief in your running game, so it's a semi rush, a trickery finesse based play like a draw. Stuffed. Now you're 3rd and long, and your quarterback is not special enough to succeed very often in that scenario.

I'm not describing the current Dolphins. That trifecta is so familiar after watching dozens of games side by side on monitors year after year. You wonder if the coaches actually study any trends. I doubt it, based on the ongoing fascination with proven failures like fades and 3rd down screens.

I'd like to see snaps from center with extend-the-ball play action and quick turn and throw darts downfield. Tannehill looks dangerous on those plays, unlike the ones that require him to move and think and avoid. We need to protect Tannehill with basic football, as I've argued since long before we drafted him. You can't pretend moderate quarterbacks can thrive in the same pass happy environment as the elite types. That was always the danger in hiring a coach with recent experience with Aaron Rodgers and all the foundational rules a Rodgers-type can ignore.

I'm also interested in the peripheral stuff: Will Campbell continue to defer every time we win the toss? Will the time out pattern be familiar? I actually think that was one of Philbin's strengths, stealing an extra possession or more time. Obviously Philbin screwed up more than once with late time out allotment on defense. Prior to halftime I thought his strategy was sound.

Getting Albert back should be huge either way, and we might see Turner more. tenn isn't ranked that great against the run either.

also chose different playcalling and different results.

Hope to see us stick with the run game and connect on a few deep passes.

Has to be option D... if it's not, what was the point of changing things up?

I got the Phins as my fantasy fooball D this week. I think the D is going to be fired up and work to get back their reputation. These are the same guys that everyone was hyping up these preseason. If they cannot step it up for a new coach and stick it to Mariota and the Titans, than they might as well write off the rest of the season.

I think we will open things open with our play calling with better results Sunday.
