Player You Wish Miami Kept Longer

how about any of the OL the past 3 years we discarded and ended up starting on legit OL units?

Adewale Ogunleye - We simply didn't find the cash to keep him. The Chicago Bears got 6 seasons out of him. With a combination of Jason Taylor on one side and Ogunleye on the other (plus Zach Thomas, Surtain, Madison, etc) those Dolphin Defensive teams were set. Good pass rushers are so hard to find and when you let a good one go, because you elect to not pay him what he's worth, it's just stupid.

There are quite a few....Dan Marino....Tim McKyer...David Griggs...Marco Coleman...Troy Vincent...Keith Jackson...Bryan Cox...Tony Martin...Adewale Ogunleye...Todd Wade...Sam Madison...Patrick Surtain...Zach Thomas...I can keep going ...
It would have been nice to have Vincent for his entire career.

Dan Marino

In today's game maybe he could have played 20+ years.

Absolutely right.

In today’s game not only would he have played a lot longer (assuming he wanted to), he’d have been able to play a lot healthier and would have routinely posted 5-6K yard seasons and 40-60 TD’s.

I’d add Irving Fryar to the list. Dude was an iron horse for the Dolphins and one of the better recievers they’ve had, but was only around for 3 seasons.

As he proved for 2 consecutive seasons after leaving Miami, Jimmy Johnson made a huge mistake letting him go.
